Default We're going to a play group today...

Tyler and I are going to a play group here in town for the first time today. We saw a lady at the post office and she invited us.
I hope it goes well! We've never done this type of thing and I don't know much about it.

I guess its through the school and also affiliated with a program called Early Childhood Parent Education (or something like that) through the state. She said the kids go in a room and play (with a teacher or something I would assume?) and we moms are in the next room visiting and such. Its held every Thursday in the basement of a church here in town.

I think this will be good for both us. Tyler doesn't get to play with kids here, since we don't know any. And I can meet some other moms in the area.

Its at 10:30am... I'll let ya know how it goes! Wish us luck!

We're home! And we will going back every week.

This is so neat... its like a mini preschool. There are 3 teachers/aides from the school there. For about a half hour when we first get there we just play with the kids... they have every toy you could imagine. Tyler loved the play stove and pans and food. We also made a St. Patricks Day paper bag puppet. They do a craft each week. Then we had"circle time"... we sung a couple of songs, did a couple of rhymes, and read a book. Then it was time to wash our hands for snack time. The had Fruit Loops and juice for the kids for snack. At that time we moms snuck off to another room with one of the educators while the kids stayed with the other 2 to play. We had coffee and chit chat... talked about parenting and things. They have a different topic each week... this week was having faith in your child and your parenting. She said if theres anything I would like to dicuss to let her know and she will prepare a discussion on it. Then we went back in and helped clean up toys befroe we left.
The lady said Tyler did real well. One other little boy creid and cried for his mom... and Tyler brought him a toy.
There were 4 kids all 2-3 years old.... 3 boys and 1 little girl. And 4 of us moms... the other moms are very nice too.

I can't wait to go back next week.
