Thumbs up Took a tour of the hospital

We went and took and tour of the Labor and Delivery ward of the hospital yesterday. It was so neat and I am so excited to give birth here. The rooms all have a birthing stool, a ball you can sit on, a rope you can hang onto to, and a bed that moves all around. They have a bathtub so you can see how you would like to have a waterbirth before you actually get in the birthing tub. They give you acupuncture if you want it and they offer herbal pain remedies and lotions to help make the contractions stay constant.

I told dh that I want to try to go natural this time. I will definately take some of the herbal things and I have the option of getting an epidural of I want it. I am going to try the water birth. I am still nervous but now I am excited too. There are just so many options that I never knew about!

Anybody do anything other than on the back when you gave birth? How did it go? I'm so excited!!

I'm excited for you, too- that tour must have really been reassuring.

I was completely knocked out for an emergency c-section, so I can't help you with any other positions for labor.

    Good luck!

I'm so glad you like it Laci! I know you were worried and now you can rest easy knowing that the hospital isn't all impersonal and archaic.
I've only gone the traditional route with having babies but am excited that all these options are available for you.

Glad you have so many options. I only had the traditional stuff here but would have probably tried other things if they had been an option.

It sounds like a wonderful Birth center. I had very traditional deliveries with both boys and a c-section with DD. I am so happy that you have all the options open to you there. I know it will be hard being so far from home but it sounds like a very nice and modern facility. I know that you are going to have lots more options there than you would have if you had delivered in WF at URHCS. (I live near there, remember )

We are all so excited for you and anxiously awaiting the newest Frugal Baby.

I am so glad you went on the tour and that you loved it! Wow, lots of great options. You wouldn't see herbal treatments around here! Wish there would have been but some doctors don't want to acknowledge that it might work!

Wishing all the best in your decisions..........won't be long!
