Unhappy mason's on breathing treatments again

took him back to the dr. on friday. they put him on zithromax for an ear infection and back on albuterol in the nebulizer (breathing treatments). they think he might have asthmatic broncitis (sp). i will say he sounds a LITTLE better this morning.
have any of you ladies had kids on one of these?? he was on it when he was about a year old too.

Both of mine were, when they were under 3. They sounded so pitiful. My heart broke everytime I thought about it. The kids took it better than me. Now, they are 4 and 7. They are a lot better.

They do have allergies. Has your son been tested?

    Hope Mason feels better soon.

they thought it might be allergies and put him on zurtec, but it hasn't helped. it does seem to get a LOT better in the winter time though.

Yes our youngest dd was on it until she was old enough to go to a puffer. She is asthmatic and had a horrible time when she was younger. Now that she is on Flovent daily, she seldom has problems, unless its extremely cold outside or she has done a lot of running. When the farmers begin to burn their stubble in the fields, she has a horrible time.

He probably should be tested for allergies though. Chelsey was and there wasn't anything she was allergic too.

Jacob was on albuterol when he was 2 months old. Doctor thought he had an allergic reaction to his formula.
Misty I hope Mason is feeling better real soon.

DD used one for years. They even had to give her a treatment while she was in labor.

AJ was on it for about 6 months.. he had asthma caused by infection... He had numerous ear infections and pneumonia...

It really helped him alot.. we also had him on liquid albuterol for when he was at daycare and couldn't use the nebulizor...

Misty, I hope Mason is feeling better.

My oldest and my youngest have asthma and take abuterol. The youngest does breathing treatments quite often.
