What are your kids after school activities??
DS#1 can't play hockey this winter because of his arm and now DS#2 isn't' sure if he really wants to play. They have played every winter since they have been 4 and 5 and that has been their activity for the winter. I am trying to come up with something for them to do for the winter. We usually pick one activity for summer and one for winter. Both of them say it's ok Mom we'll go snowmobiling and stuff.....well, no boys, I want them involved in something, a club, sport etc.and not just hanging out. Any idea I come up with they don't seem interested...Cadets, underwater hockey (DS#2), archery...........
Also I don't mind in the least if DS#2 wants to play hockey but the way he is "sitting on the fence" I don't feel like running all over the country side three times a week in the snow if he is just so so on playing. In my opinion he has to really love it!! Nevermind the expense of it too.
What do your kids do? Maybe I can get some ideas that I'm not thinking of.

Ashlee is currently doing marching band, but theatre auditions are today for a December production. She has band practice Mon., Tues., and Wed. nights, plus a football game and band competition on the weekends. Play practice will be Tues and Thurs after school

Raechel just joined Helping Hands club, which stays after school on Wednesdays. They rake leaves for seniors, have food drives, etc. I think she'll like it, and she's not old enough for marching band yet.
They are both tossing around joining yearbook clubs, but I think that will be too much for Ashlee. She needs to keep her grades up too.

Since homework is usually at least 2 hours per night, plus reading we don't do much. DD is in the Youth Choir at church and will be in the Christmas program at church - I'm in charge of both and we meet on the weekends. She is also in Girl Scouts and we meet twice a month on a weeknight. She knows that she has to have her homework done before we can go. Otherwise its lots of visiting museum, going to plays, festivals, etc. with mom.

My sons all work (but they are teenagers now), are part of a praise and worship band, do volunteer work, 2 take guitar lessons and they just finished Hunter's Safety. Two will be hunting every chance they get during hunting season and all 3 are involved as greeters at our church.

Tammy, I'm just dumb enough to chaperone the competitions, too. Reliving my teen years, lol.

DD is in Girl Scouts. They meet every Monday right after school till 4:00. Then she has soccer practice on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 7:00. Games are on Saturday mornings. That is all we do right now.
