Please know that I don't mean to keep boring you with my family's health but I am at wits end here.
Ryan had the flu a couple of weeks ago, so did I. We got over it about the same as everyone else. We still have some congestion and the cough comes and goes. No biggie.
However, several times in the past few weeks, Ryan has complained with her heart "beating too fast". I asked the dr. about it when we went for the flu and he thought it was just due to the high fever. Well it went away and now for the last couple of days its back and she's complaining a little bit with her stomach hurting and her legs hurting. I have checked and each time she has a low grade fever (100.6). She's a kid (10) and can only explain what she feels to a point. When I ask about her stomach she says it feels like she's hungry but when she eats it still feels the same. ( I am guessing that means its rumbling or gurgling?) None of this is a continual thing or an overwhelming thing, but it's driving me nuts anyway, especially the accelerated heart rate.
So...... I am going to try and get a dr. appt. before Christmas. You know that is not going to be easy so please send good thoughts our way and good thoughts that the dr. will know just what this is. I am thinking its just leftovers from the flu but I am not sure.
Your not boring us Pat!!!!!We care about you & yours.
I haven't dealt with this before but I think your right in finding what may or may not be going on. Gotta go with that Mom instinct.
Please keep us posted Pat, we really like to help in any way we can. Hope Ryan feels like her old self soon.

You are not boring me either. I am concerned with Ryan's health. I would do what I think is best for her too. I will be praying that the dr. is able to see her before Christmas and that they can inform you on what is happening with her.

Pat, I hope Ryan is feeling better soon. We here had a stomach virus and had cramping and diaoreah.(sp?) But that only lasted a day or two. I had it and lost 6 lbs in 3 days and Alex had it as well. I'm not sure how much she lost. She is not the slave I am to the scale. The heart thing is scary though. I'd try to get her to the Dr. if I were you.

PAT!!! You silly thing ~ we care about you guys!! I wish I had answers for you - only have lots of love & prayers to send that you all feel better soon!!
Pat, I'll be praying for your Ryan. I hope you can get a appointement with a dr. You can come everyday, to tell us about Ryan. We really care. Don't stay worried alone. We are here you.
Pat, never feel like your boring us. Thats what were all here for.
I'll be praying you can get her into the doctors before Christmas and get this solved. This flu knocks you for a whollop and that may be all it is, is the leftovers. But far better to have it checked out and be on the safe side.
Pat,
Poor Ryan and her worried mommy. I'm also praying for you guys. Hopefull it's just a vitamin or mineral deficiency from having the flu that is affecting her and can be taken care of quickly. Is Ryan worried about anything? I just ask because I had anxiety attacks and ulcers as a child and her symptoms sound like mine were.

I do hope Ryan gets to feeling better soon! I agree that it sounds like panic attacks. She is young but could still be having them. Definity have her completly checked out and if the doctor can't find anything ask him if it could be panic attacks? I will be keeping her in my thoughts....let us know how she is doing....
I am praying that there is nothing wrong with Ryan.
Yes, I have dealth with the wierd aches, pains, and rapid heart rates with both boys. Jesse, is 17 now. He went through years of wierd symptoms. The most distressing was the speeding heart rate but he checked out fine. He also had years of off and on leg, neck and back and chest pain.
This is what I found out. Some children, as they grow and have their growth spurts have "actual" pain as they grow. It is scary and unsettling but it is a reality. Not all children have these actual pains according my doctor but some do. Especially if they all of a sudden grow fast.
Is your family or her Dads family tall? If so, be prepared for many years of growth spurts. Ds is not extremely tall for his age but we can almost watch that boy grow.
I truely hope it is all just growing pains.
p.s. ds also started having panic attacks when he was 14. We took him to the doc and yes it was panic attacks. I'm glad you are getting her to the doctor so you can find out what is going on and then deal with it.
