Was your husband the first man to propose to you?

I realize that some of us have been married before here at the Village, so I'm sure I know your answers!

I had 5 other guys that wanted to marry me and 2 that actually did the proposing before DH came along. One of them actually had the nerve to tell me he wanted to marry me after DH and I got engaged and that he would be waiting for me when my marriage fell apart.

Well, it's been 20 years since the idiot made that remark and DH and I are still going strong!!!

Only DH, but then again I was 16 when he proposed and I didn't know many guys in high school that were ready to get married.

So once is enough for me.

I was engaged once for 2 yrs before Gabe and living with a bf of almost 6 yrs before Gabe too.

I'd never been engaged, but I've had 3 other guys tell me that they "knew" I was the one that was meant for them....

Guess they were wrong.....

proposed to by two guys before dh. so glad we didn't work out. I am much happier with erick than i ever would have been with those jerks!

Does the drunk guy at Wal-Mart I ran into after a Clay Walker concert when I was in college count?

(a year before I met Joe of course). I didn't even know the guy and my roommate was laughing like crazy. First he said: "If I got down on my knees and asked you to marry me would you say yes?" (and he did get down on his knees

All I could say was "My father would kill me." He said: "Well it's not a no!!!!" :surprise:

Yup, DH is the only one. He's also the only guy I ever dated. We've been together 21 years (dating and married) .

Engaged to 3 other guys before dh- 2 died shortly beofre the weddings and the 3rd turned out to be gay :0

I was engaged to one guy for a while, and i was 'engaged to be engaged' to my highschool sweetheart...and one guy let me know he was thinking about me as marriage material (which was really too soon since i hadn't even told him i was bipolar at that point!) ...and then later dh asked me to marry him

I was asked by two other guys. One of them I look back and think what an idiot I was! The other one wasn't bad but his family was crazy! I am so happy that I didn't go through with them!
