whiney kids
I am at the end of my rope here, how do you deal with a whiney kid? It is a friends child, not mine. However it is beginning to spill over into my childs behaviour. I mean it is bad, whines to get a bath, whines the water is too cold, too hot too shallow, too deep. Too many toys, not enough toys. The sun is to bright, the air is too cold, the air is too warm. He whines day, night, morning afternoon. Drives me nuts!!! What do I do??

lol, Melissa! I wish I could tell you what You can do, but probably only your friend can change things for her child...but I know how you can feel...Patrick has a whiney friend...this little girl, he plays with is NEVER happy! She whines and whines all the time to Patrick, to me, to other little buddies...when I have enough I tell her to come back when she feels a little happier...
I gues, you can't do that with your friend's child...
Good luck Melissa!

This sounds like when my niece was here. It was horrible.
With my own children I just cover my ears and say I am not listening or I don't hear you until you talk nicely. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. Julia always winds up whining for about a day after she spends time with her cousins. I usually spend that day saying "I'm sorry, I don't understand you when you talk like that," and "Is that how we get what we want?" It usually ends by bedtime and disappears again until the next time we are with the cousins. They get EVERYTHING they want by whining, which is why, of course, they do it!
