How to make friends?

I was thinking today about how to make friends. I am not good at it. I always think people will not like me or they will think what I say is stupid.

So, I was wondering how other people make friends. Where do you meet them?

Laci I've made one of my best friends from just being at the same place to have our babies' picture taken. She and I have been friends for about 21 yrs. now over just striking up a conversation while waiting. It can happen anywhere. You just have to be open to it. People won't think you're stupid or dis-like you. I think we all think things like that. You just strike up a conversation and see what happens

"To be a friend one must show themselves friendly". Just start with a smile and hello. Talk about a shared interest.
Is Baylie involve in a sport or group? Talk to the other parents.

Maybe I'm just too picky. LOL I know alot of moms from dd's school and soccer and pta but I just don't like any of them. Not enough to hang out with anyway. And the ones I do like alot have kids older than dd and ds and they are alot older than me!

I feel like a kid around alot of them.

Some of my closest friends have been women who were older than me and had already raised their families. They were a source of encouragment and wisdom when things got tough in the marriage and kids raising realm.
