Default Ugh-House search comes to screaching halt

Well DH decided to quit his job earlier then the end of my maternity leave. June 1st was his last day.

Our realtor suggested that I call my lender and let her know that he is now self-employed.

Lender cannot give us a loan unless he has two years self-employment history. UGH!!!!!!!!!

So now I guess we are going to start looking at houses to rent.

I wish I could be mean and say "hey we're not going to Canada unless you get your job back" but that wouldn't be right...

    I am just so frustrated....

I'm sorry Phae, I can understand your frustration.
Maybe you can find a nice house to rent with an option to buy at a later date.

    Good luck with your search!

I talked to another lender..they want to do something with "stated" income. Basically they would base the loan on my income alone... the only thing is that my employer would have to fib about what I make and my job title for one day....
