what would you think??
i'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but a couple days ago hubby and i were watching "jerry maguire." well, hubby says, "she's pretty. what's her name again?" i say "renee' zellweger (sp)....you ask that every time." then i say, "she's ok, i've seen prettier, but i've also seen uglier." then he says, "nope, no one prettier." i just shut up....not another word! it made me feel awkward, like he couldn't even say jokingly "except you of course."
am i silly for thinking that is strange?!?!?!

edited to add: i know it is a silly question, but i just couldn't get the thought off my mind.

My dh would say things like that and not mean anything by it. He just would be thinking of celebrity types, not common everyday people- guess you have to know your fella.

She's one of those women that is like those little hologram toys in a cracker jack box. You look at them one way and they look ok and then look at them another and it's all goofy.
I think she looks like she is sucking a lemon most of the time.
I like her movies though and like the dresses she chooses for award ceremonies.
I guess I didn't really reply yet huh? lol
I think you have every right to feel uncomfortable after he said that, but also think he wasn't intentionally saying it to cause you to feel that way.
Maybe mention it to him even if you feel silly about it. Maybe just say when he said that...you kinda felt like chopped liver. Say you know it's silly, but that your feelings are your feelings and you wanted to just tell him.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. You know, I can never figure out why she squints her eyes up that way! Misty, I would have said, if it were my DH, "Well, what the heck am I, chopped liver?" Jokingly of course. Men DO NOT THINK!!! He probably didn't even realize that he hurt your feelings a little...let me reiterate, Men DO NOT THINK!
You have not a thing to worry about girly!

ITA.... I'm sure your Dh didn't mean to hurt your feelings, he just wasn't thinking. I would have given my DH a little kick if he'd said that-- just to prod him into remembering exactly where he'd seen a prettier woman-- as in right next to him.

As GW always tells me, "Men read Sports Illustrated, not women's minds...."
Maybe tonight you should snuggle up close & nibble on his ear & remind him just who it is that he thinks is the fairest of them all!!

Tell him to watch Cold Mountain. She looks terrible in that! I really don't think men think about the words they say too much. I know my honey doesn't. You're a beautiful woman, and I know you have nothing to worry about.

Good advice above. Tell him that you feel a bit hurt by what he said and after he tells you you are his beautiful girl, have confidence that you really do look lovely.
