You Just Won't Believe It
I sound like a broken record.....
Ryan is sick again and has already missed 2 days of school this week. She has a terrible sinus/throat infection that the dr. says may include strep. They did not do the strep test since the meds would be the same either way. She is very sick on her stomach from what we presume is the drainage. This is only her second week of school.
The dr. is really concerned that she has such a poor immune system and we are all starting to wonder why. They did a urine test and her bilirubin (ever how you spell that) was off and she showed bile in her urine. Supposidly this just reflects the infection and throwing up from the sinus mess.
I am at wit's end for what to do. They have her on Ceftin antibiotic and Rondec syrup for the drainage yuck.
What do you think? I need to improve this child's health and my sanity.
Say lots of prayers for her and a few for me if you have any to spare. As always, advice appreciated.
Less important but I need to vent:
Mel and I aren't getting along. I think he's got "eyes" for a younger version of me (one with no kids I'm sure). You know the symptoms - weird phone calls, missing time chunks, happy when he comes in - then grouchy with me. No matter what I say or do, Mel cuts me off or makes a snide remark or simply walks away and ignores me. You know the Dixie Chick song - Goodbye Earl - He is so pushing me......Alright enough crying on my keyboard, Mel can just be Mel for now. One day he'll realize that there is no such thing as younger and exciting - we all age. (need I say he is 17 years older than me - I'm practically a teenager compared to him). I'll deal with this later.......

Hi Pat, I'm sorry you're going through some tough times now. Regarding your DD Ryan, I have a link to a health suppliment site that I buy things from. You might find something there. We sell Olive Leaf Extract in our store and many customers tell me it's a powerful immune system booster. It has no side effects and it's a natural product.

Sounds like Mel needs to work out that he not as young as the person he's with. I hope you suspicions are unfounded but I think you get a feeling for these things. I'm sending you good thoughts and hope things work out.

Pat for you and Ryan.
I agree with trying to rebuild Ryan's immune system. Josh and mine crashed years ago and we both ended up with asthma and pretty severe allergies. We used nutritional supplements, starting drinking filtered water and made our own whole wheat bread. It made a huge difference in our health.
I hope Mel wakes up and realizes what a treasure he has in you.

I'm sorry that Ryan is sick again Pat. Heck I might even try some of that stuff Bethany suggested. I hope you get her back on her feet again.
I hate to hear that Mel is acting up. Gggrrrhhhh. Do you want me to come over there and straighten him out for you?

Sorry to hear your daughter is so sick. Sometimes it can be tought to get our immune systems back in order. I hope that she can get hers back soon. I know it's frustrating.
I really hope things are not as bad as your suspicions (sp) are with Mel. Saying prayers for you!

That man of yours has needed a swift kick for a while, I remember when he wasn't all that supportive when Ryan was sick not that long ago.
I hope he gets it together but if he doesn't I know where you can find all kinds of hugs and support. Your a wonderful woman & Mom and deserve the best. You two (you & Ryan) take good care OK? And remember there's lots of women behind you wishing you the best too.

Thanks everyone. I will check out the olive leaf link just as soon as I can find a peaceful minute. It's late and I had to go to her school for a meeting, ate my supper standing up because there wasn't time to sit down, been ignored by Mel and finally got her to sleep. Mel says she's worse and we should just quit the medicine (like that will help). If she's not better tomorrow, I may demand some blood work done on her just to make sure everything is okay on that level. On top of everything, I have driven over 3 hours today taking her to school, picking her back up, going to work and then going to school for a meeting and worked 5 hours, mopped the kitchen and did 1 small load of laundry. No wonder I'm not adorable at the moment.
Mean old me is going to bed now, see ya tomorrow.
