Angry Grrrrrrrrrr...why can't he just LEAVE ME ALONE?!

I am so sick and tired of his ranting about my Internet use. WHAT I ask you is the big deal?! If I wasn't on the Internet I'd be either reading a book or watching the Idiot Box with him (which is ALL he does when he's home, by the way! ). I don't WANT to watch TV (except on Thursdays, heh).

I'm also sick of him saying "Clean this now! Clean that now!" Excuse me, but I am an ADULT, and I will clean it/cook it/bake it/bathe it when I am darn good and ready.

Geez, he's such a control freak. I don't know where he got the idea he was marrying a Martha Stewart clone!

*Edited to add: It's not like I'm on the Internet trolling for dudes or surfing porn sites, for Pete's sake! I'm looking for ways to save HIS stupid @ss money!

wow Gina did we marry brothers or something. Mine is the same way. I look at it this way If you clean the house then let the kids up or in for 5 sec. you have just wasted your time and energy. My dh tells me I work 40 plus hrs a week and you don't. Nope I don't I would 24/7 and I don't get lunch breaks or wacation or personal or sick time so Idon't want to hear it. I also have a picture that says EVERY MOTHER IS A WORKING MOTHER. So there LOL

My dh isn't that bad about cleaning the house and things like that, but he always complains about me being on the computer. He says things like, "I'd like to see you off the computer doing a hobby or something"--really, I ask you, what difference does it make what I do? The house is relatively clean, the kids are taken care of, food is on the table when he gets home (or darn close to being ready to put on the table)...sheesh!

No kidding, Chelle! It's all about control, if you ask me.

My husband is the same way!! He would ACTUALLY rather see me watch tv though!! I can't beleive that! TV is sooo trashy these days with nothing good on!

He will even lock me from the computer whenever HE see's fit..it's soo not fair since he spends forever on HIS laptop, or doing other silly things!

Mine would rather see me watch TV, too. I don't think so. At least I can learn stuff on the Internet.

Chelle, that kills me, too, about the hobby thing. My dh is the same way. I have at least 4 hobbies, sewing, quilting, crocheting, cross-stitch, among others, and he doesn't even have one. I have NEVER seen the man pick up a book for enjoyment. He doesn't even read on the crapper for crying out loud, which totally blows my mind. I'll read a shampoo bottle if I forget to bring reading material into the bathroom.

There is nothing that irks me more than a controlling freakin man! I WAS married to one the first time and now my 2nd dh knows better than to tell me what to do! I would give him leather goods, a boot in the ass and a belt in the mouth! Ok, I feel much better now.

Why don't you tell us how you really feel, CB?

I hope you girls are able to tell the guys how you feel. I can't understand what difference it makes to him what you are doing if he's not interested in conversing or holding hands, snuggling on the couch while he watches t.v. or whatever. I agree w/CountryBumpkin....holler if you need back up. I'll come a runnin'!

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

LOL Country Bumpkin! I'll let you ladies borrow my dh- he doesn't care what I do during the day (I stay off the computer while he's home since his work keeps him away most of the week). Gina, if he needs it cleaned right this second, jam that broom stick up his a$$ and make him do it himself. You're right, you're an adult, there's no reason for you to put up with that.

I can't believe that there is another man out there who is like my dh! My dh acts like such a baby when I get on the computer! He wants me to sit with him and watch a tv show that I don't even like.

My dad is a control freak and I told myself that I would NEVER marry a man like him. I DIDN'T. DH spends MORE time on his computer than I do on mine since he also has to do school work on his.

Nobody, but NOBODY tells me what to do or when to do it. That is a sure way to get me p***ed off enough to really make his life miserable in a BIg hurry! I am an adult and I will damned well do what I want, when I want to.

I have a friend whose husband is more like a parent to HER than a husband. She has to ask him if she can go out with the girls and even if she is allowed to go, she has to be in by a certain time! For God's sake, she's over thirty!!!

I believe that men who are this controlling are very, very afraid of their wives/girfriends being assertive. Maybe that's because they know we are smarter than they are and better at just baout everything! SO THERE!!!!!
