My first grader is supposed to dress like her favorite book character next Friday at school in honor of Children's Book Week.
She chose the coconut tree from Chicka,Chicka, Boom, Boom.
Any ideas for a costume that will be comfortable enough for her to wear all day at school? I was thinking maybe dressing in all brown (trunk) and pin yellow felt letters all over her. Maybe do some green craft foam palm leaves on a headband?
I'm open to any ideas. Thanks.

i haven't got any idea what that character is supposed to look like, but your idea sounds like it is something easy to pull together, comfy for your little one, and will look great!

Don't forget to post a pic if you can, we would love to see what you come up with!

Here's what we've come up with so far: Black pants and shirt (brown was too hard to find), yellow felt letters velcroed on (she wants to be able to move the letters around during the day LOL), and green felt leaves attached to her collar and draping over her shoulders (a headband all day would drive her crazy). I'll try to post a pic when its done, although I may need a liitle help in that department.
