Do your children do lots of "extra" activites?

I have noticed that where we live kids just always seem too busy to play outside or come over afterschool to play. Seems like everyone has a schedule to follow. How many extra things besides school events do your children do? I limit my chlidren to one thing per year sometimes they can do two if the other one is during the summer.

1 activity outside school and 1 school sport or band.

DS#2 who is 13 does Air Cadets and is in the marching band so that is 3 times a week. He is also in his school band which is one morning before school.

DD is in choir and worship team at church, which is one practice per week plus Sunday morning (we'd be there anyway) She is also in her school band which is one afternoon after school but she also gets a credit for it.

If they want to do sports they do it through school. It's free that way.

DS does alot of different things but they are all spaced out over the course of the year.

Football~ after school 5 day a week in Fall (still going) and resumes in late April for spring training.
Fencing~ Mid winter 2 days a week
FCA~ all year 1 evening every other week
Guitar ~ all year at his leasure
Honor Society~ year long 1 morning a week
SAP (student ambassador program) ~ year long 1 day every othe week during school so he gets a credit for this.
Student Council~ year long during school.
Beata Club ~ also during school credited

Nope we don't do the extras except 4H anymore - it just all got to be so much - and so competitive and school work was falling by the wayside - we just nixed it- + I was always be asked to run everything and I have a terrible time saying no.

My kids are involved in a number of things. They are in a praise and worship band and practice once a week or more for that. They are also involved in 2 youth groups 2 nights a week. The twins take guitar lessons 1 night a week and all 3 of the boys do volunteer work with me. They also all have jobs and are busy with those.
