cloth diapers/ AIO ...help!
I am having a wicked hard time trying to find affordable AIO's or cloth diapers. Does anyone know a link to something affordable? All the packages I have found thus far online begin at 50.00 and go up from there for five. Maybe it's just our finances...but that seems awful high for newborn to 3 mos size.
Anyone know a link?
edited to add, I have tried to make a few with my machine, they have come out very badly, the inside layer has bunched and won't stay put, it bunches and shifts even though it is stitched down along the sides, and i stitched a line down the center as well.~~ Missy ~~

$50.00 fpr five is very reasonable. The expense of the materials that goes into one is outragous. You might be able to save if you spent more on each aio but got something thats one sized. Too bad your not closer and I cant just teach you to make one!

I know you posted this forever ago, but if you go here:
Mothering diaper board
you will find out everything you ever did and didn't want to know about cloth diapering. There is even a trading post where you can buy nice used dipes (once you have enough post and have been a member for 60 days.) I bought a lot of nice ently used AIO dipes for Maggie there and have been really happy with them. Of course, I depends on who you buy them from. FWIW, I really like Little Lambs AIO diapers- they fit Maggie's chunky little thighs quite nicely and we've not had a leakage problem.
PS If you have trouble with the link, please PM me. They just moved to a new server over the last few days and the links are a little funky, so even though they are working right now, they may not once they are fully up and running.

I sewed our kiddo's out of old terry cloth towels covered in flannel and then attached velcro in quite long lengths so that they would work for our premies until about size 5's. This was super cheap and they worked great!

I use the Gerber 6 ply prefold. I got 12 for 16.00 at Target. I bought some vinyl/rubber pants to go over the top. They aren't hard to fasten on your baby but you do need diaper pins (.99 for 4). They are soooo much cheaper than the AIO's, and your baby can use the same prefolds until potty training. This is really a cheap way to coth diaper a baby. I looked into the AIO's also, but there's no way I'd pay those prices. Of course, the prefolds aren't great for overnight (my child sleeps 9-12 hours) so I use a cheap store brand diaper.

I got mine on eBay, but you can also try www.diaperswappers.com - you can find pretty much any brand/style there.
I ended up paying about $130 on eBay for 32 Little Lambs AIO's (two different auctions). We ended up going with cloth only on weekends, so I sold 24 of them (kept 8) and got $50 for selling them on eBay.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)
