I am so proud of my neighbor

Ok you might have noticed some of my posts about my neighbor who is 15 and 3 mo pregnant,well we went to her first OB appt today and when she heard the heartbeat she was beaming ear to ear.Her and her boyfriend are getting married this summer and she is showing so many signs that she is growing up.She is becoming resposible,and into a very bright woman.See I was 17 when I had dd so I knwo where she is coming from,she has had a lot of negative responces from friends and family(to be expected)but she has come back with that she knows its going to be hard road but she is going to overcome it and prove everyone wrong.Esp this''friend'' who imo has no reason hanging out with a 15 and 21 yr old(shes 35)she keeps telling my neighbor all the bad stuff about being a parent and having babies and being a wife,like when her dd cries she says see what you are gonna have to go threw.Duh like she doesn't know 3yr old throw temper tantrums she lived next to us for goodness sakes.lolOr she says all men are pigs-ok no they are not.My neighbor has taken everything so well and pretty much said that whatever happens that is ''bad'' i will try to make the best out of it.I see so much of myself in her when I first got pg.Just wanted to share this with some positive people cause most everyone I know thinks she should have an abortion.I really think this girl is goin to make a great mom and wife and her family is going to be very happy,she has wonderful potential.

I think it's fantastic that you are there supporting her through what must be a really tough time for her.

You're a good friend and neighbor. I will keep her in my prayers, I hope she succeeds so that she can gloat at everyone who told her she wouldn't !

If only all young mothers were blessed with a friend and role model like you! You should be just as proud of yourself as you are of her--you have given her so much and that is such a gift.

Thank you guys so much.I guess it is easier for me to be there for her cause I was there not too long ago.Thanks for the support

I think it's great the way you're being her friend and supporting her.People look at teenagers and think they can't raise a child.
People mature differently and even though she may be 15...she seems to act alot older.

I'm not saying every girl should get pg at 15 or 16.And I pray to God my daughter doesn't,but if she does,I'll support her and help her anyway I can. Your friend needs you and needs to know you have trust in her and that she CAN do this!

I had my first at age 16 so I know what she's going through and how she feels.
I didn't have many friends when I got pg at 16...even my family told me my marriage wouldn't last over a year.Well This Sunday we will celebrate 13 Happily married years together

Guess we showed them!!!!
I'll be thinking of her,so keep us posted

Update:Well her boyfriend has only worked 2 days out of the past 2 weeks they have no money and her dad had to buy the groceries.When I took her to her dr appt today she lost 3 lbs(not good)so we talked about what she eats and I showed her how many calories she should be eating a day.I hope everything will work out for them,I really think she needs to ditch her looser boyfriend but thats just my oppinion.

Make sure she signs up for WIC vouchers. This will get her milk, eggs, cheese, peanut butter or beans, cereal and juice. Later, she can also get formula if she chooses not to nurse.

IMO, most (not all) girls are much more mature at 15 than the boys are at the same age. Let's hope this all works out for her. You are doing more good than you can know--you are helping without being judgemental.

the thing is her boyfriend is 21! I have told her she needs to get wic.They just haven't done it yet.Maybe next time i take her to the dr.I will get her to call and make an appt

Wow, she sounds mature, but he sounds awful! She is lucky to have a friends like you, and needs to ditch the boyfriend!

This isn't even the half of it.Yesterday her boyfriend wanted her dad to come get her for a couple of days so he can go party.Hello what kind of relationship is this.ANyways I told her dad she needs to just come home and stay here,focus on her schooling in te fall and when the baby comes all she has to do is take it next door for me to watch it while she's in school.Well her dad goes over there to get her and the police are there,I guess a neighbor called cause they had been yelling.Of course the boyfriend was drunk and she didn't come home.I think maybe today I will slide over there and see how she's doing and try to convince her to come home.
