he's leaving
I just can't believe it. My DH drove long haul for 4 and a half years and finally came home 2 years ago to a regular day job.
Now he has decided to hit the road again, right after I have ditched a promising career in order to study for a job that will allow me more family time.
The pay is no different and he will spend more money on the road so the financial benefit is not there.
I don't get it

I'm sorry to hear this and you sound so sad. Sometimes we just don't get why men do what they do but maybe he has his reasons. The first thing that came to mind for me is that he might miss being on the road.
I hope all works out. Things happen for a reason and even though we don't know the complete background try to be supportive.

I agree -- its hard to understand why men make the choices they do. Hopefully he'll change his mind once he remembers how difficult it is and why he came off the road in the first place.

I hope things work out for you. Dad drove long haul for 13 years. He only quit because of his health. He loved the road and hated the everyday life around home.
