Runny Poop
Yes, yes...what an alluring title. I'm sure people will just flock to this thread to see the classy discussion I'm about to have!
Anyway, we started giving Patrick milk after he turned one. He was a breastfed only baby, no formula, but had been eating regular food before that. (Mr. Teeth got them all very quickly and could handle the chewing)
Anyway, since introducing milk, all of his poops have been mushy, no solids, which was weird because he had had solid poops prior to milk.
So, after a month, I took him off of milk for a week and called the doctor. She called back today and said that the mushy poop wasn't really anything to be concerned about and to start giving him milk again. As long as it isn't watery diarrhea, she said it's alright.
Anyone else's kid have this happen, and if so, when do the poops get solid again? My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

You know how they say Eskimos have 100 ways to say/describe snow? Over here we have 100 ways to say/describe poop.
Example: Zachary has officially named one "Superball poop". Ok, that's probably too much info, but was one of the more mild names.
Upon "gross inspection" <---pun intended
I've found Alexandra to have "mush" more often than not. She was also bf exclusively and then transitioned to milk.
Ally had a bad reaction to dairy while bf. If I had even a small amount, she was in pain and bunched up. I ended up dropping dairy for well over a year and now I'm the one with bad reactions whenever I have it.
I was very apprehensive switching her to milk, but she's done fine. My point being, if it were milk, I think you'd find more than just what you're finding. ie. pain, whining/crying, sleeplessness, irritability, etc.
I've often found her diapers kinda press any shaped poops into whatever new shape they take form too. lol
Wishing you "rocket" poops in the future.
Ally's favorite are bath poops.
It's just not pretty. She finds it's funny. Zachary has almost refused taking baths with her now. rofl
Anyway, I think mush=fine since it seems the majority appear that way over here with Ally at age 2.

Amy, your thread title got me to come and *hear* this lively discussion!
Sorry, I don't have any advice though, I'm just here for the entertainment value.
Sara, I think Zachary is very creative! I wouldn't want to bathe with Ally any more either! LOL

Oh my...we've been lucky...so far, no bath poops with either of these two (knock on wood).
I had to stop having dairy when Julia was bf'ing as well. She had all the same reactions you described. She's fine with it now, thank goodness, cuz she loves it.
Alright...I guess I'll cross this off of my "to worry about" list.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

mmm...What's for lunch? LOL
The thread title got me. sorry no advice, but if he seams ok in every other way, I'm sure it's just his system getting used to it. As long as he's not getting dehydrated I'd keep up the milk.

LOL!
For the record, DD's are also usually soft.... I wouldn't say runny, but very soft, and she'll be two next week. They were more formed when she was on formula, but, we switched to milk when she turned one and it seems they've been softer ever since.
I couldn't tolerate any milk when I was pregnant, but she's had no problems, and I could drink it again after she was born.
