My poor baby
I had to get up this morning and take Paige for her first set of immunizations
We got to the health department about 10 minutes after they opened and were in and out in no time. The longest part was that they ask you to stay for about 20 minutes afterwards to make sure the children aren't having any bad reactions to the shots.
She started getting a little cranky right before we were called back (for it being free immunization day we only waited about 5 minutes before being called back after we got the paper work filled out).
When we got in the room I gave her some liquid tylenol and a little bit of her bottle to get her settled down. She was fine and grinning until the nurse gave her the shots......man that baby has some lungs on her. After she got her shots the nurse held her for a few minutes and hugged her and told her she was sorry she had to hurt her
Then she gave her to me and after about a minute she calmed down.
Joe asked me if she was loud and I said "Put it this way, when we left the room to go wait in the lobby, a nurse walked by and said......there's the little baby that was making all that noise"
Another person said "she was loud, but she calmed down pretty quick."
In other words the whole lobby heard her from down the hall and behind closed doors.....
We gave her a little more tylenol and she finally went to sleep about 2 hours after getting home. She has since had a bottle, fussed a little and gone back to sleep.
She goes back in 2 months for more shots.....I told Joe he gets to take her and hold her hands down this time.

awww, poor Paige. It's the best thing for her though.
At least you know her lungs are working well.

....I think it's sometimes harder for us to watch than it is for them. Glad it's over.

Hug poor little Paige for me too. I remember taking Ryan and me ending up crying just as much as she did.

Gee, I think it DOES get easier after the first one. But of course, I stick people with needles for a living. The worst for me was taking her to get her 1 year bloods done- I took her to my co-worker that I thought would do best and boy was I wrong!
Give Paige a teeny little squeeze from my little Maggie- I'm sure she rememebers what Paige is going through!

Oh my..... poor mom and baby.
I remember hating every minute of my kids' immunizations even though I knew it was for the best. After their first set I wrote in their baby books that I worried if they would ever forgive me! My daughter has since read that, and told me "Of course we do Mom!"

Awww, poor Paige. I am sure you were just as upset as she was. It's hard to watch them "hurting" our babies, even though we know it is for the best.

Poor little sweetie, I hate taking my little one to get his shots. I know its good for them but that doesn't make it any easier.
