Should i cry or laugh?
Today is my 11th wedding anniversary, but no one in my family or my DH's remembered!
Oh well, it was a warm day we swam with our kids and grilled nice big juicy steaks. I dont know if i want to cry or laugh. Has anyone else ever had family forget your anniversary?

Aww.
You should have said something! Yep it happens every year. To me an anniversary is something that is usually just celebrated between you & your sweetie because that date is special to you it's easily remembered. Couldn't tell from your post if your dh remembered, sure hope he did.
Sounds to me like your day was a perfect one, surrounded by people who love you.
Next time invite some family over to help celebrate!

The only people who celebrate (or remember lol) our anniversary is dh & I. I am one of six kids and dh is one of four, plus the umpteen grandchildren. I'm just glad they all remember kids' birthdays

We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and unless we remind family, they will forget. Heck my family doesn't even remember my son's birthday. Some families make a point to remember special days and some, just don't.
Anyway, Happy Anniversary to you and dh!

Your day sounds wonderful to me.... swimming and steaks sound like a great way to spend a special day!
I'm sorry your family forgot, though. Next year I'd start dropping hints-- in casual conversation refer to the XYZ you're doing/ eating/ wearing next week/ next month/ tommorow for your anniversary.
DH and I are the only ones who celebrate our anniversary. Actually it's like that in all the married couples in both our families. My parents usually send us a card, and that's the extent of family celebration.
Happy Anniversary!

not much is said about anniversaries in my family either. ours is hard to forget since it's valentines day, but other than dh & i noone says much about it though. but even then we haven't made a big fuss about them except for our 1st and 5th. we've been married 8 years.
milestone anniversaries are different though. we had parties for both sets of grandparents when they had their 50th's and my folks when they had their 25th.
it does sound like you spent a nice day with your family though.
that's all we usually do for ours.

We're pretty low-key for anniversaries around here. Several people do send cards though, so we know they remembered us. We try to reciprocate. I wish you and your dh many more blessed years!

No one hardly remembers our Ann. either but Steve and I. His step mom use to send cards and my mom would call but I guess we've been married to long now...it's kinda like old news LOL
We just had an Ann. and no one remembered this year...
Steve bought me roses and a card and I got him a card and that was it lol

Happy Anniversary! Usually DH and I just celebrate together. We normally plan a weekend get away as close to the date as possible and spent time together to celebrate.
But every year I have to look up the date in the wedding book because I never can remember it! I figure as long as I get the month right and I am still married that is all that counts right?LOL
Will be 25 years for me in October if I make it that long!!

Happy early Anniversary Jayne! My MIL usually makes a big deal of bday's (her son's NOT mine) & Anniversaries ( again because of DH not me, whatever...) So that is why i was surprised when no one remembered. But thanks for all the responses. Also Jayne and Mamaw, I am a PA native, I'm from Pittsburgh. I've been in Calif for 20 years now. Boy, do i miss the color green!! LOL i get tired of the desert.
