Can I brag?
Ds (11) has been composing music for the cello and had entered into "the contemporary showcase" last weekend. Today Ds found out he had WON. He will be performing his piece at the awards concert on Sunday, Nov.27!
In addition his teacher asked to purchase the piece during his lesson (this is before Ds had found out he had won) because he liked it so much. He paid $10 for it and asked Ds to sign it!!! Ds was so happy he "sold" his first piece, he is on cloud nine.

Oh wow! That is fabulous! I can't imagine how proud he must feel. That is such an accomplishment. You must be very proud of him.
The cello is my absolute favourite instrument.

Gee, thanks. Ds is glowing too. He has been walking several feet off the ground.
The concert organizer phoned just a short while ago Ds will be playing his "premier piece" along with professional musicians playing just commisioned works by Stephen Chatman and Brad Turner who are established composers. Actually it made me wonder if the Organizer wanted to know if Ds wanted a profesional to play his piece hmmmmm. I will have to think about that one.
Well to celebrate we are going to have an impromptu party this afternoon!
