Thumbs up Have to brag on my dson and ddil

They have had some major expenses lately regarding a move of their residence. They live in the D.C. area and the cost of living is sky high as you all know. This made it impossible for them to travel home for Christmas and Thanksgiving. They weighed their options and decided to split their Christmas holiday time between our family and ddil's. This meant that they wouldn't be coming home for Thanksgiving. Well, as it turned out there were a few others in the same boat from their church. They all got together and loaded in a van and drove from D.C. to New Orleans and worked all 3 days that they were there, helping families and a church clear away debris, personal items, households, etc. .. . They told us how horrible the conditions are there still, and we all commented on how the news media makes it look like things are getting back to normal albeit slowly. Evidently this is not the case. Anyway, I just had to brag about how proud I am of those kids for doing something useful instead of sitting in the house, feeling down and out for not being able to go home for the holidays. I am so very proud of all my kids (and am sometimes amazed that I raised 'em ).

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

What a sweet thing for them to do. You did a great job raising your young man. You deserve a proud mommy moment.
