Does your family often have family reunions and if so...
Do you attend?
My family on my dad's side often does, however it is just too far away to get to them.
Six years ago, all the cousins tried to get together and almost succeeded. Dh was travelling at the time and we couldn't make it.

On dh's side of the family........we would have HUGE family get togethers every year, sometimes more than once a year. We did it every year until my MIL passed away almost 5 years ago. Now we do get together with a few of the cousins and Aunties and Uncles when we can.
On my side.......we had a small reunion 2 years ago with my Uncle and his family in Las Vegas and we did go!!

DH's side has a picnic-style reunion every year about an hour away. Since his parents and grandparents passed several years ago, DH and his siblings rarely attend.
My family recently started having smallish reunions at my parents' place up north, 4-5 hours from us. It's a full weekend thing. My parents invite my dad's siblings and all of their children/spouses. For the past two years most everyone has made it.

My Mom's side of the family has a reunion every year in KY. We generally attend. We have only had 2 reunions on my Dad's side of the family. Might be time for another one.
DHs family never has them because most of them aren't talking to each other anymore.

My Mom's side of the family does..her aunts, uncles, cousins, etc...I went one year and I only knew my mom's sister and her family and I felt really out of place so I never went again.

My maternal grandpa's is in June or July and we go, it's in our city. My paternal grandmother's is in September and we go, it's 3 hours away. My paternal grandfather's is in December and we go, it's also in our city.
Philip only has one for his side of the family. It's in December and we try to make it. Some years we do, some we don't.

we use to have them every year or so on my dad's and moms sides of the family (well, the grandparents that is)
Joes family is starting to have them. I went this past year, and took Paige, but he couldn't attend as he had already taken is one weekend a month off that month to get Paige baptised. Next year he plans on going.

Neither side of either of our families ever has them. I don't have a lot of family on either side of my family, Mothers or Fathers and DH's family is just odd and they never want to get together with the rest of the family

We have a large family at least 100 or more of Aunts, Uncles, first cousins, and first cousins once removed. My mother would have an annual Labor Day picnic when I was a kid and we would all get together. But now that there are so many of us scattered all over the country it is too hard. We do see the local family mostly at Weddings, funerals, big birthdays ect. all at once.

My dads side of the family is extremely large. About ten or twelve years ago we started having reunions to accomdate everyone every two years.. We will have one here in Oregon, and two years later have one in Washington. It seems to work out well.. Since both my parents have passed away, I feel that it is extemely important my kids know their family... My dads family also has a small "reunion" every Christmas when we go to an Aunt and Uncle house for the evening for a Christmas party...
My moms side is small and we rarely all get together, maybe once in the summer and once in the winter...
My DH family we are together every Thanksgiving, rain or shine. We also try to get together as much as possible any other time since Grandpa just turned 95 and we don't know when we will see him last.....Bonnie mom to
