Default What do you do with your SO?

When DH and I first got together we were young and fun and spent a lot of time going to clubs and dancing and partying. Now that were older I find it hard to find fun things to do together. Once or twice a month we go for a bike ride, lately we have been spending time in the yard, playing frisbee or tossing around a ball. We have very different shopping styles, so going to stores together is a nightmare, and I can only spend so much time in front of the tv. What activities do you share with yours?

We do things with the kids--watch their baseball games, etc. We got to go out to dinner this past weekend all by oursleves! We don't get to go out much--no money (all goes to grad school).

We go kayaking, out to dinner occasionally, and of course there's always Home Depot! They're building one right up the street from us now. I'll be a Home Depot widow for sure now. He plays softball, so I try to go watch him play and leave the kids home (baby is sleeping!) Then afterwards we go out for iced tea and appetizers (we don't drink) We always try to make time for ourselves. It's really important so that the kiddos don't come between you. That's so hard when you have kids, hubbies tend to get pushed aside.

We usually rent videos and watch them together, go to the $2.00 theater, go on walks, go driving (visit new streets/neighborhoods, etc.), play with the puppy, go window shopping, play board games/card games.

We don't do too much here either (due to lack of money). We play ball in the yard with ds and the dogs, we go down to the lake alot. We both enjoy gardening, but I prefer not to do that along side him, or any other project, because he finds fault with what I'm doing and just takes over (I put the seeds in too deep, it's easier to do it HIS way- I wish he were that way with housework). The only thing we can do along side each other is cook- so we do that alot too.

Other than that- he's usually asleep on the couch while I'm doing my own thing. Fun, huh?

DH and I go on camping trips together, go to the movies, watch tv at home, play Scrabble online, or just do stuff around the house. He does a lot on his own--like fishing, motocross, surfing, etc. During those times I cook, clean, coupon, go grocery shopping etc. It's funny how his hobbies are so different from mine! LOL

Before kids we did lots of things, every weekend we were out "doing something"...
Now with 4 kids, no extra time (or babysitters) or money we do family things, visiting family, playing games with our oldest (9 years old) and we also rent movies and watch them together after the kids are in bed..

    OSounds like fun huh....

We never went dancing really or in clubs...boring isn`t it for us. lol Over the years I also realized that we have very different personalities and tastes. What we do have in common is that we are simple people, who do not run after having more and more. We have a great respect for each other`s differences and know that this does not mean we are not made to be together.

We mostly do activities as a family, like going to movies, playing together soccer or basketball, swimming together, going to a museum occasionally. When do get to go out as a couple, we usually go out dinner or bowling.

We both love to read, so we often go browsing in thrift stores, yard sales or used book stores looking for books. This has also turned into a little bit of a moneymaker for us because we sometimes pick up books just to sell on ebay, which is fun!

We also love to ride bikes and will often go for a nice ride through town.

Because I know it's important to communicate in relationships, I decided to pick my boyfriend's (Jay) brain. I asked him why he likes playing computer games. I never understood how playing online games like Diablo could be fun, until he showed me how. I kept my mind open to new things. Unfortunately now I am addicted to the stupid game. Go figure. We are mostly homebodies, he's my best friend. Doesn't matter what we do.

We do lots of everyday things together. We watch t.v., having specific shows that we both LURV (he even calls me to record Days when he can't be home to watch!), we cook, piddle around the house, work in the pond(me) & garden(dh). We talk a good bit about dreams and goals. In the past we attended everything our kids were involved in (games, school activities, etc.) and now that we don't have any at home we still do that! I love my dh's company, even if he's not in a talkative mood. We both have our separate hobbies (garage sales are mine, arrowhead hunting and fishing are his) but we do most things together.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

We like to go for walks outdoors, fishing, camping, Zoos... alot of things. We also do alot of things apart. Like... since Tyler came along I don't fish much, so when dh is fishing Tyler and I do our own thing.

We don't do too much together. We rent movies alot. My DH plays everquest so I am an Everquest widow. If anyone else's DH plays then you know what I am talking about! He works alot and when he is home he likes to stay here and DD and I are ready to go anywhere. So that is usually what we do.
