Going to get shots
It's time again for Paige to get shots. She is 13 months today and when I took her in when she was sick the week of her birthday they said they did the one year shots at the 13 month check-up.
Joe has never had the priveledge of going with us as he alway's has to go in early on her appointment days. Well today he doesn't go in until late and he said he would go with us. Of course in the past I've always had to hold her down and we went to see him afterwards and he held her and made it all better. Hopefully today he will hold her down and I will get to be the good cop comforting her afterwards....lol
Although I'm not looking forward to taking her at least I get off work a few hours early. In fact I get to leave shortly after noon so just 2 hours left and I can start my weekend. (Although paychecks weren't ready so I'll have to come back and get mine and watch the store to give Angie a chance to run and cash hers as well.

There is an anaesthetic patch which you can put on the kid's skin an hour or two before and it numbs the area quite nicely. Ask a druggist for it.
Give a little Tylenol for kids right away, whatever the dosage, and it minimizes pain and fever without interfering with the immune response.

Thanks, I had never heard of the patch before, I'll be sure and ask about that for next time.
For today though I put her tylenol in her day care bag and they are going to give her some around lunch time (an hour or so before her appointment) since I won't be getting her until right before time.

How often do you have to go in? Still every month? The only reason I ask is after Ingrid's one year we didn't have to go back until 15 months, which we ended up skipping anyway and just did a combined 15 month - 18 month.
Lots of cuddling and loveys are my only adivce.
Feel better soon, Paige!

We don't go back til her 18 month check up. I think we took her at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months....we skipped the 9th check up but they don't do shots then anyway so they did the blood draw they usually do then this time around.Originally posted by Emerald_Mommy
