So, I spent all weekend making a pinata.
We will be going on a mini-vaca next week and when we are gone, we will be having DD's birthday party.
We are having a Dora and Diego Fiesta, so I wanted to make a pinata. I spent ALL weekend (once I was done being creeped out Saturday morning) working on the pinata. I could have bought one fairly inexpensively, but I wanted to make it myself. I'm making all the games/activities myself- the only purchased Dora things are some plates, napkins, and cups.
When the pinata is finally completely done, I will take a picture to share. I have a lot of fun with DD's birthday parties- they are so much fun, and she will only be little once, so I want all of us to enjoy them while we can. We still have the family-only type, and hopefully my nieces and nephews will have fun at the fiesta.
I'm still trying to decide if the pinata should be the whack-it-with-a-stick type, or the pull-the-ribbon type. I can see the merit in both. I think the stick type would be more fun (if less safe) but the ribbon type, well, she can keep it in her room until she is sick of it. I made it in the shape of a star, which fits the party theme, and it also matches her room (moon and starts) only in more festive colors.
Any opinions as to the type of pinata? It is pretty much all I have left to do, other than put a face on it. There will be kids ranging in age from 3 to 8 at the party. Thanks!

I think that is the way I am going to go. I don't know how I feel about all those little kids walking around with a whacking stick, IYKWIM.

What a cool Mom! Can't wait to see a pic. I just know all of you are going to have a great time.
