I just thought that I would share this version of hush little baby
I just thought that I would share this version of hush little baby that we have been singing to our daughter since she was born. We got it out of a book but the book is long gone well read and lost in a move. We loved it because it did not talk about buying things for your child but showing them the world. I wish I could remember the author if I ever find it I will post it.
Hush little baby don't say a word,
Mama's going to show you a humming bird,
If that humming bird should fly,
Mama's going to show you the evening sky,
When the night time shadow's fall,
Mama's going to hear the crickets call,
When there song drifts from afar,
Mama's going to search for a shooting star,
When that star drops from view,
Mama's going to read a book with you.
When that story has been read,
Mama's going to get your warm bed spread.
If that Quilt begins to tare,
Mama's going to get your teddy bear,
If that teddy bear won't hug,
Mama's going to catch you a lighting bug.
If that lightening bug won't glow,
Mama's going to play her old banjo.
If that banjo's out of tune,
Mama's going to show you the harvest moon.
As that moon drifts through the sky,
Mama's going to sing you a lullaby.

LOVE this version. I sing Hush Little Baby every night to my boys and I just realized the other night that my 3 year old counts on his fingers all of the things I say Mama's gonna buy! I think they'll both love this one as well. Thanks!
