I think she means people who wear their children in the baby carrier/sling type things. Like a Baby Bjorn. (Correct me if I'm wrong here.)

I will if I have to leave my apartment to get the mail or take out the trash, but I don't "wear" my son all the time.

I was a babywearer with my first son. I read all the Dr Sear's books and followed attachment parenting. My first DS was a high need baby. I do not babywear DS #2 as often because he loves to be on the floor watching his brother play. I have used all types of carriers; slings(padded and unpadded), baby bjorn. The baby bjorn with the lumbar support is my favorite.

DS lived in my Over the Should Baby Holder sling until he was 2.5! Just like a baby kangaroo! (Didn't hurt that he was very tiny.) He taught class with me, did chores, etc. all happy as a clam as long as he was in his pouch. He'd nurse and I'd have people come right up and admire him and not even know he was nursing.

Me! I wear DS a lot-- at home, in stores, whatever. He loves it.
I had a big padded adjustable sling with DD and did not like it. With DS, I bought a fitted cloth sling, and it's wonderful. I wish I'd have known about this sling with DD because it is so much more comfortable for me and DS doesn't get "swallowed up" in all the extra padding and fabric. Mine is from this company: http://www.newnativebaby.com/ but I bought it new off eBay.

I use different carriers depending on the baby. DD1 loved the Snugli and the sling and would also spend periods of time on the floor playing with toys. DD2 did not like any that I had and had to be carried in arms oe let down to move - she is two and I have a hard time keeping up!. DD3 hates the Snugli, loves the larger ring sling that I have and also spends lots of time playing on the floor. I have a hip carrier that I am starting to use so I can carry DD2 and DD3 together to walk to DD1 busstop! I have material to make a wrap now and will see how that goes - so yes, I am a babywearer!

I used to carry DD everywhere in her sling! I made it from some batik fabric I bought at Walmart, and it certainly got people's attention.
She's 26 months old now and itty bitty, but she rarely lets me "wear" her anymore
....it's like putting an angry wet cat in baby clothes, so I just don't bother!

We did too!
He's three now... We still drag the ergo carrier we have with us when he's walking and we know we're going to be out for a long time. Especially if we're going to NYC for the day.
I had a hot sling that I just sent to my sister (she just had her third in November) - he cries when she puts him in it though so we're hoping that changes or she's going to get a different one to try with him. I also sent her the one shoulder baby bjorn one I had.
I'm not big on ring slings but maybe I was wearing it incorrectly.

Yes, I have a sling and a baby bjorn carrier. I love the Baby Bjorn carrier. I use it when I need to get things done in the house and my babies need to be held. My husband has better luck with the sling.

I have "worn" all of mine, and plan to wear this one. I have a Maya Wrap sling, a simple ringsling and 3 slingling pouches. I love the flexibility and the closeness you get by wearing your baby. Check out www.thebabywearer.com, they have tons of resources about babywearing.

I have had slings and carriers for all my children - but I have progressively worn them more with each child - got to have my hands free for the other kids. I have one ring sling that was really handy with my son recently since he was so tiny (4lbs at birth), and two pocket slings. I also have one front pack carrier.
