Smile My oldest DS was accepted to....

Temple University, East Stroudsburg University and West Chester University but he has choosen to go to Temple University, he is taking business management for now. I am so proud of him and he begins in August, a month before he actually turns 18, while I am soooooo proud of him I just know I will miss him so much.

He's never home much now being such a teenager and he has already started packing, gosh kids grow wayyyyyy too fast, and how many times I remember when they were kids how I kept saying "Cant wait till your 18 and go to college" I sometimes regret it. I do want him to be successful and he tells me all the time that "Mom, I want to not have to worry about money, or have to cut my phone or cable service to pay another bill, I want kids and I want to be able to buy them a new car or pay for their car insurance" Well it hurts because we cannot afford to do those things for him or the other kids, I just hope that he finishes college before starting a family or get married, he has a GREAT head on his shoulders and had a goal in life. Wish I was like him when I was 17.

Anywho, just wanted to share my proud-ness with ya all!

Shoot... forgot to say don't feel bad that you couldn't buy him a car or pay the insurance...Your teaching him responsability and not handing to him on a silver platter..My father was very wealthy when I was a teenager and I had to buy my own car...I took alot of pride in that car and I think had he just bought me one I wouldn't have taken such good care of it..My veiw on it is if I had trashed it he would have bought me another one like he did for my brother who never paid a dime for his hotrod vehicles(smashed everyone of those cars) for years thanks to my dad spoiling him..BTW my brother(I do love him dearly) acts if the world owes him a living and he is very irresponsable when it comes to paying his bills...mind you he brings home close to a $1000 a week with no mortgage payments...

I mean I dont feel too bad about not being able to help him out more, as long as I am here for him that's what matters. We gave him our GMC Jimmy and well an angry kid smashed in the windshield with a baseball bat, that was the last time I gave him a car, lol... he paid to have the windshield replaced but then his GF's parents (who buy their kids everything) bought him a car because they didnt want their DD riding around in the Jimmy so that helped him and me out.

I had to buy pretty much everything for myself when I was young, I also got married and had kids young too but I wasnt very dependant (which is weird because I am so, now). Glad I raised a smart kid and he is very responsible.

Congratulations! Good luck to your son. I was going to say that if he is at Temple he wont really need a car since the city has great public transp. but I see he already has one

Actually since this is his first year there he isn't allowed to have a car, plus he is living on campus and has his meals included so he should be fine, his GF is also going to Temple (yes, we know why he chose temple) and she's a senior there (I think) so she will have her car.

Thanks for everyone saying I am a great mom, I try!
