Just a cool thing :) - bicycles for the summer!
well, my big J is 11, and little j is 4.
I promised my big J that at the end of the school year, I would buy us each a bicycle for summer fun.
well, today was the last day of school - big J had perfect attendence for the year - and HE WON A BRAND NEW BICYCLE!
((came with a helmet also))
as if that weren't cool enough! He was REALLY excited that he won! ~ a family member had two older (outgrown) bikes in their garage that were passed on to us - they simply wanted the bikes to go to someone that would use them. One for me, one for little j.
(I still need to find training wheels for little j)
so - this was a great day to start off our summer vacation!

That is so cool! We are getting bikes this summer, too. I am trying to get fit (I have lost 11 pounds this month!), and dd has never had a bike (she is almost 11). We go pick up our bikes this afternoon. Kmart has some on sale, and they come assembled. Yay!
Dd is a little concerned about learning to ride at this late age. She just never expressed any interest at all in owning or riding a bike until now. We were at a friends house a couple of weeks ago, and their daughter asked Molly if she would like to borrow a bike so they could go for a ride. Molly was kind of embarrassed to tell her she did not know how. She has just been active in other ways, such as swimming and roller skating.
