My neice is not that bad but she is very spoiled and when we go over there I have to retrain my dd to not say mine, or give me for two day when we leave. She is also very whiny and I cant stand it when people whine(like nails down a chalkboard). I just try to renforce the good behavier and ingore the bad.

Oh I forgot to mention. The discussion about replacing the game was not productive! The only one besides us who thought he should was.......... the 12 year old nephew.

the xbox needs to be put away somewhere the next time he is over. explain it to you ds before hand so he understands it's not his fault. we have had to do that in the past because of dh's young cousins. explained to my kids that the game system was getting put away so no arugments would happen and so it wouldn't get wrecked. i'm talking throwing the controlers at each other kind of arguements, and it was always between teh cousins not my kids and the cousins. just wasnt' worth the headaches.
i've been watching sil's son some weekends. he's 3 but has a fit if you tell him no. gets to be rather trying by the end of the day. but we stick with it hoping that eventually he learns that auntie and uncle mean it when they say no and aren't push overs like momma and grammie.

I don't know about sending him back early (DON"T die of shock - the "I'm not overly fond of kids woman" thinks there is hope). Sometimes kids act horridly when they are trying to discover where the boundaries are, and they actually are more comfortable when there ARE boundaries. Sounds to me like this kid has a lack of them at his home, but that you could potentially teach him about them at yours. Incidentally, I had to remove all sodas from my house and put them in the trunk of my car when my son came home from college - and I KNOW he had been raised better!
