Default Kids say the darndest things.

I was having a bad day yesterday. Had to go for test results, not great news. I was tired, maybe hungry too. I had stepped on the scale to see I'd put on 10 lbs this summer. Nothing fits right, nothing seemed to be going my way that day.

i'm laying on the couch, uncomfortable in jeans that don't fit quite right at the moment and my 3 yo dd comes up and starts poking at the "bulge" around the waist, it only shows up when I'msitting or laying, standing they look fine. I'm getting irritated with her. And she lifts my shirt a little bit and kisses my flesh at the belly and says "mommy, I love you, you
're soft and cuddly, you perkfect" She looks up at me "i like you belly" And she climbs up and lays on my leg resting her head on my belly.

Kinda gives a new perspective on what is "perkfect" and acceptance. I sure do love that little one with her untarnished view of the world. She didn't see the stretchmarks, or a slightly rounded belly, she say a perfect place to cuddle and feel comfy and cuddly.

Kids can get away with so much. ONce I was in the shower with my dd and she slaped my belly and said something about me being jiggly. If dh did it he would have gotten slaped but becuase she did it , it was cute and I laughted.

Your babies love you the way that all humans should be so lucky to see eachother. For who they are in the inside.

Didn't that just make you melt when she said you are "perkfect"? What a sweetheart.

LOL! And that's exactly why I don't let anybody in the dressing room with me.

Kids love us just the way we are. That's what's so nice about them. They don't see us the same way we see ourselves. My kids are always telling me how beautiful I am, but I tell them they must need glasses. As long as I'm beautiful to them, I won't worry about it.

How sweet I also took my dd (three at the time) into the dressing room while swimsuit shopping. It wasn't pretty. Kids can be sweet but so brutally honest sometimes, lol. She was so nice and probably saved me from embarrassment at the beach when she told me not to buy "that one" because it made me look fat. Oh well, at almost eight she loves to rest her head on my every growing stomach
