How do you compliment your dh?
and how do want him to compliment you?
I have to admit, I am lacking in this and am going to try and work on this in my marriage.
I like to compliment him on small things like acknowledging gestures of kindness or his cologne or clothing on a particular day.
I also like to tell him I like when he does this or thank you for doing that.
I like when he tells me things look nice in the house or what a good mom I am or how he cherishes our marriage.
How about you?

Steve likes doing woodwork,so I often say how nice his work has turned out. I often tell him how much I apperciate that he works so hard to take care of his family.
He's a very good daddy and he helps with them ALOT even though he works long hours. I know alot of men do,but some don't and I want to make sure he knows how much the lil things matter to me.He doesn't think nothing of taking out the trash, vacuuming, or helping bathe the kids, but I think alot of him doing that.
I like it when he tells me I'm a good mom, keep the house clean, and just doing small things for him or someone else.
He has often said that I should know he apperciates what i do,but I like to hear it every now and then
Just like I know he loves me, but I still like to hear it

What a cool thread.
I like to compliment Bob when he does the woodworking he does. He has such a talent and he feels good when I tell him that. I like to compliment him about the good father he is and I thank him nightly when he does those supper dishes.
I too like it when he tells me I'm a good mom or a good teacher. I feel good when he says I'm the best cook there is or that my quilt is nice.
I love it when he says to others "homemaking is the toughest job around".

I think my Hubby is the best, I appreciate the little things he does and he compliments the things I do as well.. My dh is retired, he took a good teamsters job right out of high school and stayed with them for 31 years. He makes a good living just staying at home.... He is however old school, he does not mean to be stereotypical, but he does leave the majority of the housework for me. He is great with the kids and they leave for school each morning well fed, clean, organized and gives each a kiss goodbye... He is good at straightening the house if it needs it but is not a cleaner.... That's Ok 'cuz I am..... He keeps things repaired and he is after all retired and I allow him time to enjoy it....... I do see a lot of double standards though..... Men who want a mountain of accolades for picking something up off the floor and never recognize all that their wives are doing...... So he's old school, but not chauvinistic.........We had a surprise baby 6 years ago when he was just retiring and almost 50 years old.... He has risen to every challenge and been a great Dad. I think our six year old Jeff keeps him young...... He's a good man and I love em....

I compliment him when an outfit makes him look especially good, when he saves money on something, when he does something for me out of the blue..when he smells good..
I also need to work on complimenting him more..
I like it when he compliments me on stuff I've changed in the house, if he notices I lost weight, a cute outfit I'm wearing, my favorite is when he tells me I'm a good mom

I tell mine he's doing a great job of taking care of us, because that's what he worries the most about. I also tell him I think he's a great dad, because he is. We were talking about his dad this morning, he died when Lando was 15, and he glowed when I told him his dad would be proud of the man he is. His favorite is when I smack his hiney and tell him," Nice butt!", though.

I like to tell him what a great dad he is. Or when he makes a great dinner. I need to do it a lot more.

I tell him often he is a, "mechanical God!!" I swear, no matter the problem or the machine, you could set it in front of him and he'll figure out what is wrong and fix the problem right now!!
I let him know I think he is handsome and an awesomw Dad, I am greatfull for him and love him dearly!
I think that about a month ago, he was talking to a man who came here to buy a bike, He was talking about his wifes job and what she did. Randy told him, "She is a stay at home Mom and Wife, I took the easy way out and got a J.O.B."!!! It was the nicest thing he ever said, and I know he appriciates what I do after that comment, even if he does not say it all the time!!Proud wife to Randy
