What is love to you?
In a relationship...love is what?
I think everyone has their own idea of what love is and/or means to them in a relationship.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perserveres. (the love chapter of the Bible)
For me love is all of these rolled together. Do I do them all, NO, but I'm striving to.
I believe love is a commitment to one another, where we can accept faults and in doing so help build each other up in working at correcting them. Dh helps me and I'm there to help him.
Love is having respect for each other, and allowing each other to grow without hindrances from the other.
Love is letting go of some of my desires in order to help him fulfill some of his desires and vice versa.
Love is forgiving when the other has done something wrong and learning to go deep in that forgiveness (I've been there and its hard work but so rewarding).
Love is all the above and more. Words at times can't express the love I feel for dh. Its goes beyond and can't be described, kwim..

Love is being considerate of each others feelings. It is respecting each other, too. Mainly to me it is being considerate and kind to one another.

Love is something you do, even when you don't feel it at the moment. Love means knowing that no matter what, where, when that your special someone is there and willing to do whatever it takes to pull you through it, and you for them. Love is faith, forgiveness, hope, security. Love is seeing the shortcoming and choosing to look past it with your heart.

I agree with Homestead Momma. That is my favorite bible saying and I truly believe in it. and yes, me too, I can't do them all, but it's what I strive for.
I think Love is something you work for. It may come to you, but you have to work at keeping it going strong.
