    Unhappy they forgot me!

Hi! This is just a bit of a vent...not sure how to take it myself...any ideas?

This weekend, I was invited to go out to my friend's house about 2 hours away. I would stay Friday and Saturday night. Help out with yard sale on Saturday.

Well, 95% of the time I was there, they "forgot" I was there. Wait...Trish is my friend, her fiance, and their 2 1/2 yr old baby. between me sitting out at the yard sale watching their stuff BY MYSELF and her fiance's sister coming over every couple of hours and Trish having to do household stuff, I read a COMPLETE magazine, watched some TV (mind you, her fiance would come in and change the channel when I was watching something - by myself), got bit up by mosquitos, was bored out of my mind...

She invited me to stay the weekend. I don't understand what happened. Even if I had invited a friend to stay and was sooo busy, I'd still make sure the company was entertained and comfortable. but it was like they completely forgot I was there. ??????

She said she was sooo excited for me to come out...it had been sooooo long...yeah cuz I didn't want to make the drive they never have just to sit by myself...I can do that at home and save the money on gas and food.

Am I wrong to feel this way? I don't even know what to say..I did say thanks for having me, but not anything like I had a good time. Anyway...

I am so sorry that you had to go thru that. I don't get company very often so when i do they are the center of my attention. (Maybe too much). I don't know what i would have done but you i think you were very gracious and should hold your head high for saying thanks for having me. Your mum would be proud!!!!!!!!! ]
that husband sounds very rude to me changing channels while you were watching telly, we were taught that you watched what your guest wanted to. This use to happen to me at my Ex ILs during holidays i would go home so upset that they totally ignored me. so i totally understand.

what a rotten way to treat a friend and guest. You can be proud that you said thank you, but I'd think long and hard before going there for a weekend again..

I agree with everyone else. You were very gracious in your goodbye, and she is lucky to have a friend like you. I would also think long and hard before I made any more of an effort to see her.

I am sorry she treated you this way....but it is no reflection on you, rather it is a reflection on your friend's bad manners.

That's terrible. Sorry you had to go through this. I would never ignore someone the way she did you. I would have had all my housework finished before you got there, so WE could watch the yard sale.

Thanks...I appreciate your comments...I just didn't know what to think! and still feel bad! Like maybe I should've expected that...since she was busy with her daughter and the yard sale and a b'day party that they were going to about 3 hrs after I was to leave. ah heck I just dunno. oh well, here's to another 1/2yr before I go out again...they've never been out to my place.
