We are going to give DH the last few dollars for his Itouch..he's been saving his Christmas and Birthday $$ for over a year, and a lakers conference finals t-shirt..he is way into this upcoming NBA series.
Plus the kids will have school gifts since school is not out until the end of June

for my dad
I've been working on it for MONTHS
his mother used to make an AMAZING spiced cake with peanut butter icing, just absolutely out of this world
unfortunately after she passed, somehow the recipe was lost
I've made DOZENS of cakes over the past few months trying to tweak it and get it just right
so finally I think I got it, so I wrote out the recipe, I'll be putting it in a card, then unveiling the spice cake when he realizes what's going on
for FIL
dh is taking him to a local brazilian steakhouse...

lol I sure hope so
it's one of the most labor intensive gifts I've ever given LOL
it probably took me about 20-25 diff recipes to get it right
of course dh was oh so happy to eat the results the first 10 times
after that lol he just took them to work and let his coworkers have them

I got a showerhead as an afterthought for mother's day, so I'm not going too overboard...
Dd & I are going to make him a reese's p-butter cup bouquet!
I have tons of vases (from when we were dating & he sent flowers on a regular basis) & ribbon, & even some artificial greenery as filler. Tape the Reese's to sticks & arrange in vase as flowers.
He's seen this before in the grocery store & pointed it out to me, so I expect it to be a hit!
I'm also making him a card on the computer. The front will be a pict of him with the girls, having fun that I took a few months ago.

for my father, I finally decided on what to do. I'm buying an eagles football ($35) and a football display case off ebay (around $15) and going to get it signed by McNabb. I won't have the ball back in time (well may but not guaranteed) so we will have my dd decorate a cardboard football to put in the case so he knows what he's getting. 3 siblings going in on it and it'll cost us each approximately $17.

I bought Zac two shirts that he saw on a t.v. shoe and LOVED, unfortunately they were sold out EVERYWHERE! and I had to buy them on Ebay and they were more spendy. But he missed Father's Day last year since he was in Iraq, so it evens out I think.
I want to do something creative with Wesley for him...like do an arts and craft thing. I am thinking about letting Wesley make something...but also taking a picture of him pointing at his eye, then at his heart, and then at the camera (so it's I love you!) and framing it.McD

This is a pretty neat thread, and as a father it has been neat to read. I always have the same request each year..... to be polite I'll just say it comes wrapped in something from Victoria's Secret.
As far as getting things from the kids, tahy always have a lot of fun making cards or drawing pictures. It makes me a happy father just to see them happy.

I just figured out what craft I want to help Wesley make for Zac!
I printed off a poem called my handprint:
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But everyday Im growing big
And soon I'll be very tall
Then all my little handprints
Will be hard to recall
So here's a special handprint
Just so that you can say
This is how my fingers looked
When I placed them here today.
Wesley will add his handprints to it and we'll frame it for Zac!
I also need to come up with something to do for Zac's dad/stepdad and my dad and our grandpas. Yikes.
Oh and I am getting Zac a DQ icecream cake. He's never had one.McD
