Mahalo Polly - that's a good one to save for Valentine's Day too!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

My make my step dad crock pot apple butter. No real recipe just peal and slice apples put in the crock pot with cinn and sugar to taste and let it cook on low until its done (sometimes more than 24 hrs) I also sometimes cheat and just get the really big jars of applesauce and cook it that way.
I then put in hot jars with lids and seal for him to eat when he wants.
Cheap and tasty.

Josephhgoins, do you process these in a water bath or do you just seal?

I make sure to use hot jars, lids, and applesauce, so they usually seal easily.
If you havn't canned much, I would suggest 15 or 20 min in a water bath.

DS2 in in the kitchen now making banana bread for his gift for Dad. So Sweet!

Today went VERY well. DS2 made his first all by himself homemade gift. A slightly burnt banana bread that he carved out the words I heart Dad on the bottom off and he presented it to him bottom up. LOL! DH got a real kick out of it.
My coupon got a sincere Thanks with a sly grin!
Supper turned out really well and it was quiet the entire supper hour. A sure sign the food is good. Second and third helpings heaped up on their plates.
So all and all, this frugal Father's Day was a good one. Thanks again everyone for all your ideas, you were a big help!

I baked brownies for my dad and put them in a saved empty hot chocolate canister. I wrote "Happy Fathers Day!" on the lid with a sharpie. I didn't decorate it otherwise and he didn't care. When he took the canister from me he immediately exclaimed, "ooh they're still warm!" Yup.
Then I visited for a couple hours and later he called asking for a refill of the brownies. heehee!
Its truly the thought that counts. Hope everyone had a good day of it."If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, march down there and light it yourself."
Car loan (ugh, again!)
Husband's debt to work on, mine is gone except car loan. w00t!
Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.
