Lost my job...going from two incomes to one
I just lost my job that I had doing PCA work. They just aren't getting clients and the gas prices are too high to keep any gas in the vehicles. We are offically from 2 incomes to 1 income. I dont know how we are going to work this until i find a new job. The job market isnt the greatest right now as it is. Luckily we get that stimulus package next week (i think) and that will cover us until I find a new job but if it doesnt I dont know what we are going to do. We only have $385 to pay our bills every 2 weeks. the rest of DHs paycheck is directly deposited into the house account for our house payment. We haven't been in this situation before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Sorry to hear about your job. I think the first thing I would do is go apply for unemployment compensation.

Can you file for unemployment? I would look at expenses to see what could be shaved off or eliminated. Is it possible to declutter and have a yard sale?
I'm sorry this has happened, things will work out.

Have you thought about doing some work from home? Yesterday I had a phone interview for a work-at-home job that I know is legit because I have several friends (in real life) who work for them or have worked for them in the past.
It's pretty easy to get hired. Basically if you meet the technological requirements (computer specifics, high speed internet, quiet work area, etc) and have a decent phone voice, they hire you. They're basically a call center that hires agents to work from their home. And they pay $8-10/hour depending on what contract you're working on.

First thing is apply for unemployment, atleast for the time being. Also, try going through your budget to see what you can cut out to help cut costs. I am sorry about the loss of your job but just remember God doesnt give you anything you couldnt handle.

I know each state differs, but in VA, you must work at least 30 days or 240 hrs. And if you haven't worked that long at your current job, they go back to to the last job (providing it was recently).
So, I would try unemployement anyway, the worst thing will be denial of benefits, which you already don't expect so there is no real loss. The best would be that you'd get benefits or maybe they even know of a job that will be perfect for you. So give it a try.

I'm sorry your position ended. I don't know where you live in Minnesota, but I know of a good work at home position. Can you type? I worked for Young America processing rebates for them. No, you don't make tons of money, but I did average around $8.00 an hour typing in customer information. I would pick up the work and drop it off every 3 days or so from a designated site. Just a thought for you...

A lot of my friends and I have taken merchandising jobs part-time (movies, cds, greeting cards, etc.). You work for the merchandising company, not the retail store. It's pretty easy work and pays a bit higher than the typical min. wage retail job.

First, take a big breath....and let it out. Apply for unemployment and take the weekend off from thinking about it. You can't fix it today anyway. Tell God your problem as you see it and then ask Him to find you what you need.
