Spam Spam Spam..Sales of Spam rise as consumers trim food costs
http://news.yahoo.com:80/s/ap/200805..._ge/spam_sales
I saw this article as well as comment on it on NBC news, not sure if anyone else posted this yet, kind of interesting. Sign o' the times."The average pencil is seven inches long, with just a half-inch eraser - in case you thought optimism was dead." ~Robert Brault

We had some a few weeks ago with eggs and toast. It was better than I remembered.. We fried it in butter.

My husband loves it fried in butter till it's very crisp with a soft fried egg over it. I still can't quite stomach spam, but it's more appealing fried atleast. I'd imagine you can chop it up and put in all sorts of things to stretch meals. Like in scalloped potatoes.

I don't think food prices have reached so high that I would be substituting with spam
I like it every once in a while....like once a year lol.
For almost $3/lb I can get MUCH better quality meat than Spam! The price of Spam is up too, with the average 12 oz. can costing about $2.62. That's an increase of 17 cents, or nearly 7 percent, from the same time last year. But it's not stopping sales, as the pork meat in a can seems like a good alternative to consumers.

Thanks Missy for the youtube link! I had the song in my head when I was typing my email: Spamity Spam!
I think maybe once a year I buy a can as it is cheap, and dice it up with some mac & cheese. However the gelatinous goo that slides off of it when it comes out of the can, ick!"The average pencil is seven inches long, with just a half-inch eraser - in case you thought optimism was dead." ~Robert Brault
