Default It's Official, Dh is Laid Off, Again....

Dh didn't get to work last week and Monday he went in and worked 4 hours and was sent home. One of the owners of the company came by the house in the afternoon yesterday and informed him that he was being laid off and no longer "on call". But, he said it's not permanent, just till they get some work. Dh has enough unemployement built up to run about 3 months.

I am really upset about it because there is a younger man who was hired back after dh was and he's still working. I KNOW the reason but I can't post it in the public forums.

So, we are back to my disability check that ONLY covers the mortgage payment and dh's unemployment which THANK GOD covers our other bills and necessities as long as we are very frugal.

Dh doesn't do well being laid off, what man does? He needs something to do cause he's driving me crazy cleaning the house and going behind me and informing me how messy I am. We had an argument when he got home yesterday and even though it's settled now, the tension is too real.

What really bothers me is it's just another step towards bankruptcy! We had been working to pay down our $50,000.oo in debt which doesn't include the mortgage. We had also hoped for dh to finally have health insurance (which is a major cause for our huge debt but it's not going to happen now.

I'm very frugal and dh is a severe tightwad, lol, so we'll keep going and trying to do everything we can to survive. I started listing stuff on ebay on Saturday and I now have 8 auctions going and 2 have bids for $16.00! Yay!

oh dear. I am really sorry.
really. I kow you've been worried about this stuff.

did you know that it's okay NOT to pay for medical expenses?
Did you know that it doesn't count against you if it's in collections?
With just your disability payment- I wonder if you qualify for assistance somehow.

Huggs. It just might be high time he find another town/state to work in.

That really stinks and I'm so sorry to hear that happened! I am hoping that a much better job comes along real soon and one that doesn't have "on call" hours and one that has better healthcare benefits.

I'm confused I thought medical collections do count against your credit? I know they were on my credit report and thought if something is there it affects your credit. When I went through my banckruptcy 4 yrs ago our lawyer told us to make sure all accounts includeing medical is included.

Morally it is not OK to pay the bills you owe.

Medical Bills in collection do count against you on your credit report.
