Default A Little Bit of Good News....

DH has finally started his daily injections for the MS now and luckily the insurance company is paying for the medicine. Their still investigating on all the doctor and hospital bills though. Those bills started rolling in a few weeks ago and the amounts are a little bit overwhelming but they are for something that couldn't be avoided.

He finally got his short-term disability to make payments thought they say they will only pay for two months and not the three months the doctor has him on it. They say in order for any further payments, the doctor will have to provide them with medical information. I just need to have him call the doctor and let them know so it won't delay in any payments he may get. The amount he's getting just covers the house, insurance and medications.... so needless to say we're still behind.

I've sent out applications, etc but still no nibbles. We did go to one of the local agencies and will be getting assistance with our electric bill. I also found out I'm eligible for schooling! Now I just have to find something that I'm interested in and want to do for the rest of my life. They will even help with other expenses while I'm going to school. DH found he's eligible for Vocational Rehab.

In the meantime, I've been doing our local Farmer's Market and while I'm not doing great, I am making a few sales. I've also got a few people who are buying fresh eggs from me though most of that money goes to buying their feed.

I'm definately feeling better about our situation.

Thanks for listening to my rambling,

    Debbie in Missouri

I am sorry about the insurance issues you are having, I think they should pay for it all, so get those papers the insurance company needs ASAP. If the Dr. says it's necessary for his medical issues, the insurance company should pay for it.

As for the help with your electric bill, that's awesome and going back to school might be great, but is that being paid for in full for you or are you taking a loan? Maybe you can apply for foodstamps or the such until things get better? Just an option but let us know how things turn out.

    Hi

I just saw your post so I'm going to have to go back and look your previous ones but from what I can deduce it sounds good for your family now.

I also see you are trying to start a business so maybe some business courses for the schooling would help or something related to that so you can use it but have backup career is you need to get an actual job

    Good Luck!!

The organization would pay for it plus help out with living expenses too. I had found out a little about the program before and knew that if we qualified for food stamps we would qualify for other things too. We qualified for food stamps last month so I knew we had a good chance.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad things are starting to look up and I hope the insurance company agrees to cover his entire treatment.

Having MS myself I'm glad to hear he's starting his meds! I'm on Copaxone myself.

Have you looked to see if the drug company has a program to help with the cost? Most of them do and will work with you to get the price greatly reduced.

I don't know the background but would like to say that I'm happy things are improving for you.

Maybe once the drs paperwork is sent in the medical will be all covered.
