Default A Great tool to look for jobs. Indeed.com

    Hi everyone,

I thought I would share a tool while I am looking for work. It is a great tool and very similar to the google interface. (Following the kiss principle )
    http://www.indeed.com

    Example of a refined search.
Type in your search keywords if you want. (If you see redundancy from a company you already applied or are not interested in working for ex: -Dow Chemical for me)

I would do a search like this:

I would leave the what field blank if I was looking for any job in the area. and do a search for Midland, MI in the where field.

If for example I am not interested to work for Dow Chemical.
I would put in the what field "-Dow Chemical"

This will give me all job posting not mentioning Dow Chemical.

Hope this helps. There are other tricks that work just like the good search engine.

Another trick to look for jobs is to look at salary trends.
    http://www.indeed.com/salary
Type in the job title and location if you want.
It will show you salaries. Then if you click on the link, it will search for these jobs.

They also have a forum discussion that you can talk about potential employers.

    http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/ (Yahoo)
    Is also good.

    Dice.com for oriented IT/IS jobs.

The thing that I like about indeed.com is that it crawls Monster.com, hotjobs, careerbuilder.com, online newspapers and directly employer's job posting on their HR website for openings.
(It is not perfect of course and you might find discrepancies)

I still use the others but I mostly use indeed.com

    Gabe,

Hi there and Good Luck to you by the way! I didn't know if you have thought of the following or not but in my area you can go on the "City of _____" sites and they have local city and gov. jobs listed. Also in my state there is a state site thru the unemployeement that you can sign up on and it lists state & gov jobs in your area.

I will keep an eye and ear out for you....by the way your resume is very nice : )

    Have a good day,
    leezza
