A little bit of good news
I found out that my fried laptop is still under warranty, so Dell is sending me a new hard drive. Directv sent me a new receiver to replace the fried one. And we are talking with Nissan about the broken torsion bar. So far 2 out of 4 things that have gone wrong just took some phone time, and possibly a third one will be helped out with. Things are a bit lighter here now. Still tight but the feeling of doom with everything breaking is lifting.

I love having warranties on items that break. I think we've used our laptop warranty three or four times now.

Glad to hear things are looking up for you

That's good about the laptop and reciever. While you were on the phone with Direct TV, were they able to help you reduce your D-TV bill at all?
It is what it is.
