Another one down
I saw yesterday that the farm down the street from us has a forclosure sign on it....There are so many homes sitting either for sale or forclosed and still they build more...I don't get it

We have one street, that is one over from us that is about 6 blocks long and has 14 forclosures on it. It is insane, there is no other part of town that is that bad.

It is scary. We were talking about the same thing the other day. There are too many houses in our town up for sale or in forclosure.

Very sad. Around here there are many mny foreclosures yet they still keep building these huge gated condo complexes...for who I want to know??

There are for sale and forclosure signs poping up like weeds around here.

Lately, I've been seeing signs "Land for sale" around my area. I hate it too when I see housing and businesses popping up all over when it's not neccessary.

Yep...And I'm afraid that it is not going to get any better. My advise is Hold on to what you've got and do not spend unless it is an emergency.
On our 20th last month we stayed home. Putting that money on bills etc. instead of pinching in a day that is only a day. DH and I know we love each other breathlessly and why pay for that day twice. KWIM...if the money is needed somewhere else then ya gonna pay twice.
After 20 years we still hug, love and hold hands as we walk along. We have our priorities straight and will pay before we play.
Many people get into situations like this because they think the Jones' have it better so they need to have it better. Wrong....simplicity is being reinvented and people need to take heed and do better for themselves instead.
You know that if you take a frog and put him in a cold pot of water and turn on the heat the frog will stay in that pot and eventually be cooked however if you throw a frog into a boiling pot of water he will jump out every time. Its the same with life and what we are now facing. Get out of the water before it starts to heat up. You'll have less health problems and better home life.

It's so sad. If that were me I don't know what I would do without my house.

It is a sad event, throughout the nation and lots in NJ seems like the lsist of them grows. In fact one of the reasons I am forced to leave my DW at home in evenings is so that 51 ***** way won't be added
to that list.

It's so sad and scary... I try not to think about it most of the time because it makes me want to go into "stockpile panic mode"

What am I saying? I'm already there!!!Kace - married to Dh 12 years

I could never understand why people choose to live so much more out of their means than they know is good for them...not just financially, but emotionally as well. I've been a bigger advocate of simple living and while I may not have just the clothes on my back and a roof over my head, I don't go out of my way to have the best I can possibly have. If I had a choice between two shirts with one being 30 dollars and the other being 10, I'd take the one for 10. I found the cheaper one lasts longer too, depending on what store I buy it from. My strappy dress shoes have been in my arsenal for the last six years and they haven't fallen apart to where I can't repair them. I spent 4 dollars on them at Wal-Mart. Alot of my clothes were either really cheap or given to me. I even went to the mall today to take DS to his dentist appointment and didn't buy anything for myself!
As long as you have the basics, I can't see how people can buy things they either end up throwing away or just let sit in their closet forever.
I understand when people have things happen like losing their job or a loved one gets sick to where they can't work. It's those things that people can't expect to happen or prevent. I just don't understand where a small family needs a house big enough to fit two families into it. We have a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath duplex that's just the right size for us.
People need to stop living in the means of 'well I have the money to have it, why shouldn't I?' and realize that nothing is secure. I bet that people's stress problems and marital issues surrounding money wouldn't be so prominent if they just lived within their means all the time.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!
