This is how sad I am financially
Last week I had posted how I was hoping that the gas co. would no shut off the gas being that I paid on the arranged date but on the auto. sys. and no one was there to confirm it. Well everything was fine. But we did have an agreement with the elec. co and I paid part of my bill last week and have an arrangement to pay the rest next week. Well I am at work right now (work nights) and DH calls. "Did you pay the elec. bill cause the powers out?" And you know what? I immediately freaked and thought they cut the power off because something happened with the bill or something. So I can't check the bank register online so I run out to the car trying to find the confirmation number. While I am doing this I am on the phone with the power co. waiting for 20 minutes and you know what? It was just a power outage. It is so sad that I am reduced to freaking out like this. And all I was thinking about was if the check didnt go through or something how I was going to get the $$ to cover it and on and on and on. And I totally worried for nothing. Someday when I can pay all of my bills in full and on time I won't have to freak about silly outages!

Your post is humorous in some aspects. I can see the irony of it all.
I do hope you're chuckling at yourself. If not.. I'm sorry.
Actually, it is quite terrible that you'd be reduced to freaking out like that. What a terrible feeling. It's like being held hostage to the companies!
Dammit!
It's almost as bad as being held hostage to debt. But you NEED this electricity.
And then the thoughts (which I am glad where unfounded) that you've bounced and how are you going to recover from that.. barely skimming and now you're more under and on and on it goes.
Anyway... I'm sorry it's tough for you right now. {{{{Hugz}}}}

I am sorry that you are going through such a rough time! I don't come on this forum often but I usually seem to look at your posts. You are doing so much better than you were when you first came on. It is so disheartening to have financial problems but you [B]are [B] doing so much better than you were.
Just make sure to rest and exercise. That helps with the stress.

Yes, looking at it now it is kinda humorous and relieving. When I asked the lady at the power company if they may have cut it off she said "maam we don't cut off power on the weekends." I had her check my payment to make sure it went through anyway and she was like "uh okaaay".

Been there, done that and laughed at myself in the end for being panic stricken.

I would have done the same thing! Honestly it is like we are so afraid something bad is going to happen thats what we wait for...instead of something good. We have come to expect the worst and when you think about it thats pretty sad. You were smart enough to work out payments and agreements with the companies you owe. Im sure they appreciate that as opposed to the people who get so scared they just run and hide instead of trying to pay! Since things are so tight for many people these days I find companies a little better at accomodating what we can pay...because they are losing so much money when others dont .

I'm glad you can see the irony and humor even in the midst of a rough situation.
Looks like you've made a lot of financial progress
Hang in there. I hope it continues to get better and easier.

Things will get better, and someday you will be able to laugh about it. Just go one day at a time, and hopefullu in time, it is all going to be better. Hang in there.

Sorry you freaked out...but, why didn't your hubby call the electric company to find out what happened or look to see if others had power...before he called you?
I hope that some day you are able to look back on these times and smile..."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon

I understand how it is. Year's ago when my husband had to take a new job with a huge reduction in pay, this could easily have been me. Since then we have not had to live quite so close to the edge. Trust me, it will get better so hang in there.
