more money woes (Long)
Sorry everyone I feel like I am always complaining. So I am going to rant and I totally understand if you dont want to read it. So here goes.
I posted a few weeks ago about my schedule and interviewing at a daycare, blah, blah, blah. Well I went on the interview at the daycare and if I took the position basically I would be making less than half of my current pay (after taxes, insurance, gas and daycare). So if I didnt have to pay off the debt it would be okay but I have to stay where I am at basically, I dont think I will find a better paying job. That being said my supervisor did approve for me to switch and work 1 day shift. I still have to work 2 night shifts even though someone is able to switch with me. We have a person out on medical leave and until then everyone's schedule is in limbo. I may get a second day shift, it just depends on what happens when my co-worker's leave is finished. I am trying to prove to DH that I am trying with all of this. So one full day of the week we need daycare and 2 mornings we need it so DH can get to work on time without waiting for me to go home. It is $400 a month, which sucks but it really is my only option right now.
I am just stressed and tired. Hopefully putting him in daycare will allow me some rest. Our bills are so bad. For example, our payment to CCCS is $721 a month. I called to pay last week when it was due and told the girl I would pay $730. I get a confirm. email yesterday for my $30 pmt. Basically she put in $30 instead of a $730 pmt. So now my pmt to the CC's will be late. CCCS may take the blame though. Then, DH wrote a check and didnt tell me (and I have been trying really hard to write down everything since I am bad at that) and now we are overdrawn. DH gets paid on friday and we have to pay the mortgage, cover the OD and then we will have $0 until I get paid next week. Somehow I am suppossed to get food, gas, pay the 2nd part of the elec bill and the fyll amt for daycare. Our tax check will be sent out by the 30th (so they say) and if I get it before then we will be okay. If not then I don't know what to do. We may have to borrow money, although from who I don't know. Ugh I am so stressed. Just wanted to vent. Once we get the tax check we will be back on track and caught up. I just need to keep praying. thanks

It sucks. I know how you feel, we've been there. Just keep plugging away and doing what you can do. It's almost impossible not to stress about it, even if it is something you can't change, but try not to stress out too much over it. Just do the best you can with what you have and keep your eyes open for another position. You never know what might pop up!
{{{Hugs}}} Hang in there!

Could you go to a food bank or church for help for a few weeks on groceries...just til you got caught up?? I think we have all been in that situation before or still are there! One day at a time! You will find something better paying or even better hours with less daycare would help! Hang in there!

Hang in there, KC. Progress is being made. Look at your sig - last month you paid off FOUR bills. You're so close to paying off another (#2), and if I read those goals right, you could pay off the Bad debt in another month, loosening that monthly budget up some!
So just hang tight! Remember, this mess didn't happen over night, it'll take time to fix, but it WILL GET FIXED if you stay the course. If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I agree with another poster regarding the church pantry or foodbank. Tht is what those places are for, people in pinch who truly need help! Call as many local churches as you can until you find one that has a pantry or call your local shelter or salvation army. Look in the phone book (or internet) for community services.
That should relieve your food problem. Now, have you applied for food stamps or wic? If not, give it a shot.
And remember, they cannot eat you. Good luck and I know you will pull through this!"That which does not kill us makes us stronger."

Thanks everyone for your responses. I called the elec. co. yesterday and asked if I could extend the agreement. They said that I can pay next week and the power won't get cut off but it will look bad if I try to ask for another extension again. I will take my chances on that. I just need to make sure we keep the power on. As far as daycare, it is due on the 1st and I get paid the 3rd so I am going to ask the lady if I can pay then. Not sure though since this will be the first week he is going. I did pay the deposit though. Then all we will need is money for food and gas. DH has a friend that owes us money (he bought DH's lawn mower and pays us when he can, basically DH gets on him to pay us when we are in a pinch and he has always paid no problem) so I think that now is the time that DH may be calling him on that. So I am hoping we can skirt by. I am trying not to get stressed about it and just pray about it all. I have been going through coupons and did my meal planning for next week. On a good note, DH did some dumpster diving (well curbside diving). He found 2 boxes of tile we can use for our bathroom. We started to lay some tile down a couple years ago and we couldnt afford to finish and by the time we could afford it they discontinued it. So we have had half plywood and half tile for a couple years. So it wont cost anything to do the floors. He also found a bunch of shelves and put shelving in my closest. It just brightened up my day.

kettlecorn: out of curiosity, are you using the envelope method, and making sure you put money in the priority envelopes first?
Food, lights, transportation, roof, kid care first. Debt last.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
