Finally a bit of good news!
Came home yesterday to a message on the answering machine.... DH was approved for Medicaid!!!
I don't know how it all works, etc but at least I'll be able to breathe a little now and not worry about him not getting his meds.
Thanks for all the prayers!

Debbie,
That's great!
I know that when I had to let people go because the FMLA had run out and they were unable to work, they thought I was horrible and mean. I was doing what I had to do. However, I know that each one of them qualified for disability more quickly because it was documented they were unable to work.
I know it was hard for them in the short-term and I hate that. Really, it tore me up. But, I know that the folks are actually better off now than they were before... it was just tough for a bit.
It will continue to get better!

He's alot more happy today now that we finally got good news. He's still physically about the same, memory is horrible, worse than ever and he's still having trouble with his hands. The doctor told him to go ahead and get a lawyer to re-apply for his ss disability and if there is anything he can do, he'll help us.
Its good to hear Medicaid will go back three months as he was diagnosed in April and all doctor bills are from that time period. The insurance he had thru work has had them in 'review' for over a good month now. I have no real clue how Medicaid works but I'm sure it will be better than having nothing.
Tonight we're going to visit with friends we've not seen for almost 5 years and he's happy about getting out, especially with something good to celebrate. We get to watch our 7 mo old grandson overnight tomorrow night and then Sunday my son is taking half our rabbits to sell at an animal swap. Hoping to get enough to pay a bill!
Thank you all for your prayers and support. I REALLY appreciate them.
Debbie

I'm happy for you. I know that right now with all my pregnancy complications...I wouldn't know what to do w/out medicaid. My boyfriend doesn't qualify for it, and the last time he got sick it was over $200 for 7 days worth of medicine. If it would of been me, it would of cost $3 thanks to medicaid.

Awesome!
Make sure to find out if Medicaid there will reimburse mileage for doc appointments! It's a little known part of Medicaid.Starve a bank... Pay cash.

Well, today was not a good day. We went down to Family Services to take them copies of an old check stub and as we're leaving the woman tells DH that he just needs to contact his doctors/providers to be sure that they accept the Medicaid.
He got on the phone and called the pharmacy that he gets his injectible from and they told him they do not accept it. He lost it. I told him to calm down, his response is, 'its easy for you to say'. I told him that he still had the application in to the drug company for assistance. He called them and they told him they still have not received the application. He started throwing his phone book, his pen.... I asked him to stop and got the 'its so easy for you to say' again. I brought up that maybe he contact the MS Society. Well, he calls and the number on the website for the St. Louis branch is a produce company. I double checked the number, he called it twice. Definately a wrong number.
He ended up storming outside to do some work out there. He's just so fustrated. I just let him go for about an hour then got him to come inside for lunch since its so hot and humid outside today.
We had such a good weekend and then to have this today. Just so aggrivating. *deep breath*
Thanks for listening,
Debbie

Your poor DH! I can omly imagine how frustrated and scared he must be. The phone number for the St. Louis MS society is 314-781-9020. Also, for information regarding services and assistance, y'all can call 1-800-344-4867 and press option 1. Good luck!
