I asked for their wages to be garnished. I'm going to be writing letters every time they are $1 late and drag them back to court.

YEAH! i wrote letters requesting to have their wages garnished with an income with holding order and I got the paperwork today. So as long as they work i'll get money, no more of them paying when they want to. I'm barely keeping things together and when I get some darn money I can catch up.
My gas was shut off over $200. I have a gas furnace but also have electric heaters built in so I don't have to worry. I called the gas place so when I pay it I won't have a deposit.

I know it has been over a week since you last posted but I'm just now seeing this thread. My stupid computer only stays connected enough to type about 2 posts then it shuts down.
I just wanted to say that I'm so very proud of you for pushing for garnished child support. Yeehaw on the one court order. Hopeing you get another one.!!!
Congrats on the new job and I hope it will all work out for you. It sounds like you have everything under control and you should be proud of yourself for all you do and all you have done for your girls.
God bless you all,
Carolyn

I'm doing my best while thinking of ways to save in the future.
I'm feeling really irate right now that the ex's have court dates in less than 2 weeks and that hasn't motivated them to pay a single cent yet! My house phone has been turned off now because all money needs to be used for rent, electric, and gas right now.
I can't afford plates and insurance on my car right now. My 2 girls and I walk 2 miles one way into town for groceries and I get what I can hang on the stroller handles. We make the best of it and it is good exercise. We have to walk down a busy road and we almost got hit yesterday. I think it blows that having a legal car is a luxury for us right now.

I'm glad you've posted an update. I was wondering how everything was going. As far as the exes go---some people just have to be beat over the head before they learn anything. It's too bad it'll take the judge actually ordering the money to be taken out of their paychecks before you see any of it.
I'm sorry y'all have to be without a car right now. Please be very careful when walking to and from town.

Part of me hopes that they go to jail, but then again you wouldn't see any of their money then.

people ask questions by text message and we send them back an answer. It's fun while learning new things and it is something you can do anytime. I'm sorry but i'm bad at explaining things.

another update:
I forgot to send in paystubs for my benefit review and my food benefits got closed
I had an appointment with the DHS for food benefits today, the caseworker noticed I haven't received child support in a long time. I told her they had court dates but they both have stopped paying. She asked me how I was doing on bills and I told her everything is bad right now and thought I couldn't afford plates and insurance and the deadbeat was going to file a complaint against me for not making it half way for visitation, I had to miss one visitation.
She had me fill out paperwork for emergency assistance and bring in copies of my bills and she checked me off for assistance with electric, gas, and rent.
I'm still working my fingers off making money and I guess i'll have to wait a week or so and see what happens. And still no child support. I spent my last $40 I had today for diapers and groceries. A nice thing that happened was that I walked into town with my 2 year old and when we walked out of the store the transit bus was outside and the driver recognized me and asked if I was going home. I told him I didn't have the $1 for fare and he told us to get on anyways because I had my hands full with 2 bags of groceries and my toddler.

I hope you're able to get emergency assistance. That was so sweet of the driver to give you a ride. Hang in there.
