Bad news! And I am freaking out!
#1- Dh cars brakes just went kerfluey!!! Thank goodness no one was hurt. It was at a stop light and the brakes just went mushy...and stopped working. It is going to cost $1600!!!!! I don't have the money. He needs the car to get to work. Up goes my line of credit even MORE!!!! Will this never end! And here I was sooooo happy I was able to put another $60 in my EF fund. What a joke.
#2- There will be a "meeting" at Dh's work on the 23rd. There will be more lay offs. Dear God. I pray it isn't us. I can't beleive it is all happening again. When Dh lost his job last time we had only our mortgage to deal with (that was bad enough) and savings. Now our savings are gone, we have student loans and personal line of credit to almost $15,000, and a car loan. If Dh loses his job this time it is going to be terrible!
So please please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that the economy turns around, gas prices go down and the canadian dollar stays low enough that our manufacturing industry will start doing well again.... and that Dh doesn't lose his job !!!!!.
I am so worried......

Sending you good thoughts and I am glad that nobody was hurt.
1600 for brake repair...let me hazard a guess and there is a brake line or two in that repair.
Hang in there.

car repairs are a predictable and annual expense. put aside money every month for car repairs. I put aside 83 a month, based on past history.
refer to freedom account Debt Free Living by mary hunt. book highly recommended. The freedom account has made all the difference in my financial dealings and serenity.Last edited by ladykemma2; 09-14-2008 at 08:57 AM.
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

That is definately a goal. But I think I need an EF fund first. Then I think I need to start snowballing debt first right????? And then put aside for anual bills (FF fund). That is what I am trying to do.....
but if Dh loses his job again, I don't know what we will do.
