frustration .. need some encouragement!
Ughh I just had to post that I am getting frustrated at the slow rate my debt is going down .. sigh .. I know its still going down just not like it was before the slow down for my husband.. the elevator he hauls grain for is going down hill and he has hauled like nothing for him and if it wasn't for livestock we would have no income coming in from him. Which is what about 90% of our income is. But he is busting his butt to find things to haul so we don't go bust... I just wish I had more debt paid off before this happened ughh ... I just need encouragement guys.. you can tell by my signature that we are still gaining ground and my babyEF is almost done. There is another 50 dollars going to it in a few minutes.. have to run to the bank. Just need some good thoughts .. thanks guys.. Wendy

Hang in there! It seemed to take us forever, but little by little our debt disappeared. There were some times, when it just felt like it wasn't going down...but just remember, even if you are only paying down a dollar....you're still paying it down!

Just think of how much better off you are now than if you hadn't already started paying it down. You look like you're about halfway to your goals... just keep at it. You'll be on the "downhill" side of it soon.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I am in the same position you are really. My small debts are paid. The remaining debts won't get paid off overnight. It is frustrating. It sucks.
Here's what I do. Everytime I send off that 3$ payment, I just keep saying that is 3$ I never have to pay interest on again.
Do you have a debt free goal in mind? Like a vacation or a new house or a remodel? If so: post a picture of that goal somewhere where you can see it every single day. And everytime you get frustrated just keep thinking that no matter how of a small step forward you are taking-that you now one step closer towards that dream.McD

It may be slow going, but you are still progressing. Any progress is good progress. Actually, you are doing fabulous with getting stuff paid off.
Would it help if you snowballed one of the lower debts to get it paid off? I know when I got one thing paid off it felt so good and it showed progress. I needed that one thing gone to make me feel like I made more progress.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

I started paying off debt and getting my ducks in a row last February. If you look at my down line siggy I have to wait until the END of 2009 to get anywhere.
It stinks but look at the alternative.
We could all just do nothing and pay miniumums, charge like crazy people and live outside our means and then where would we be.
If the balances are going DOWN everything is okay.
I was just telling my Mom today I wish I had started my stockpile LAST year instead of THIS month.
I feel insecure..I bet you probably do too.
Too much debt, not enough savings, not enough in the stockpile and next week is the elections end....okay I am not being perky....
SOOOOO keep on paying down that debt as best you can. There is an end if you work for it.
The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83
Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!

I completely understand! I just decided a month ago to get serious about paying down my debts and I have a LONG WAY to go.
I agree with MrsMcDowell, post a picture or something where you will see it everyday to remind you why you're making sacrifices and working so hard.

I agree!! However I completely empathize with you!! As you can tell by my sig my debt is slowly coming down also. A couple of things I do to stay energized to save versus spend is I posted on my pantry door all the debts which I have paid off. I posted on my refrigerator what I currently am working on paying off and each time the balance comes down I write the amount and the balance. It keeps me motivated.
Just keep pushing toward being debt free!!

Wendy,
Keep your chin up things will get better . You are striving to meet your goals and even though it seems discouraging at times the worst part is over . Facing your debt, making budgets and plans are the tough part , you are both been a team and that is important. Sending good thoughts your way. I agree doing a visual map of your goals really helps when you get discouraged. Hugs!!*Angel*

I just had to jump on here and say I know EXACTLY how you feel. We cruised through our first three goals now we are pounding on the credit card and sometimes it feels like I'm trying to empty a swimming pool with a teaspoon. I just hope I remember this feeling if I ever get tempted to get out that stupid card ever again! Trying to juggle the upcoming holidays and still keeping up our saving and debt reduction goals is frustrating but like you I will just keep plugging along. At least we are all in this together!

Trust me , you are not alone. If you have happened to read my recent posts, we have been hit hard by Murphy, and I am not just talking a few hundred of dollars, more like a few thousand, plus some. I am going to stay determined to kick this debt out of my life. I am feeling frustrated too, but this is a great place to regroup and get some "that a girls" when you need them the most. Hang in there.
taking one day at a time, trying to get rid of debt!!
